For Candler Students:
For any student related concern or emergency, please contact The Rev.
Ellen Echols Purdum, Assistant Dean of Student Life and Spiritual

For concerns regarding academic support, international student support or

Writing and Academic Skills Instructor, in the Writing Center located in the

For Emory College Students:
For any student related concern or emergency related to academic
performance issues, contact Jason Breyan, Ph.D. with the Office for
Undergraduate Education: jbreyan@emory.edu. The Office for
Undergraduate Education works closely with Campus Life; so, even if you
suspect life in the residence hall or off campus is negatively contributing to
the students academic performance, you can contact Dr. Breyan and his
office (see more information below).
Academic Advising and Support Programs are available in the Office for
Undergraduate Education (OUE).
Academic advisers work closely with
students, faculty and academic deans to provide group and individual
academic advising, and to explain and interpret academic policy. Advisers
have offices located in White Hall, Few Hall, the SAAC and the Woodruff

students problems are strongly related to campus life issues rather than

The Office of Disability Services (ODS) assists qualified students and
faculty/staff in obtaining a variety of services (i.e., alternative testing,
notetaking, interpreting, advocacy, mobility/transportation, etc.) and ensures
that all matters of equal access, reasonable accommodation, and compliance
are properly addressed. Qualified students and faculty/staff must register
and request services contact the Office of Disability Services at Emory
University or Oxford College. Confidentiality is honored and maintained.
International students in need of academic support and other help can
contact the International Student and Scholar Services Office. The ISSS
Office is open all year except University holidays, Monday through Friday
from 8:30am until 5:00pm. The office is closed for staff meetings every
Wednesday from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. The ISSS Office is located in the North
Decatur Building (1784 North Decatur Road) in Suite 130. (404) 727-3300.
