Description of Learner
The clients name is Mae Chan. She is 35 years old and currently living in 123 C.R. Compound, Barangay Jarya. She is a devoted Catholic. She is a
college graduate and is currently working as a high school teacher, earning 15,000 pesos a month. She is happily married for three years and claimed that
her husband and her teacher as the most important people in her life; considers husband and family as her support system. She describes herself as
sociable, smart, family-oriented person. She loves listening to music. She values family and health, career is only secondary; she even verbalized that,
kahitmaraming beliefs, kung anoangsasabihin ng doctor yunangsusundinko. She practices breast self-examination, eats balanced diet, and does not drink
nor smoke. She believes that learning about the topic will be of great help.
Learning Needs
The client said, Nagwo-worry talagaakopag may fever at diarrhea angmgaanakko. She believes that staying healthy should be the priority of
everyone, therefore saying, Gusto kosanamatutunanmga inexpensive practical ways napwedenggawinsabahay kung may fever angmgabata. She then
asked, Anobapwedenggawing interventions sabahay kung may diarrhea angmgabata? According to the client, she wants to know ways to prevent fever
and diarrhea as well. She verbalized interest in learning about the topic, Interesadorinakomatutunanbagaynapwedenggawinmaliban sap ag-inom ng
gamot; Gusto kosanangi-search ang topics naitosa internet kaso di sure kung factual angmganakalagay don. She likes watching medical related
programs like SalamatDok and talk shows like The Buzz; she admits difficulty in hearing on the left ear since she suffered from otitis media as a child.
Learning Style and Learning Readiness
She expressed desire to learn, likes doing things on her own and learns best when shown concrete things. The client claimed that she likes discussion
and learns a lot by observing people as well. She likes reading health magazines and also showbiz magazines; able to analyze elements of a situation; and
good in critical thinking. She can speak Ilokano, Tagalog and English; she can read printed materials without her glasses. She is fond of listening to the radio
news program and she said she is willing to make time to learn about the topic of interest. She spends ordinary day going to work then doing chores and
taking care of her two children when at home; she would want to live long until her children would have a family of their own.
Educational Diagnosis:
Knowledge Deficit: Diarrhea related to lack of information.
Goal:
