Brought on to define and implement a formal infrastructure and roadmap strategy for the stabilization of an aging
APG store network, improve project delivery performance, and guide the transformation of the infrastructure
organization during a period of corporate restructuring.
Re-engineered IT PMO processes that defined a reasonable intake process, identified and quantified
budget and resource constraints, prioritized projects, and improved project delivery.
Reorganized the infrastructure organization into 2 distinct groups (Operations & Support and Architecture
& Engineering). Recruited and put in place leadership teams for each group that established goals,
accountability, and responsibility within the 2 groups.
Developed a tactical 6-month approach to stabilize an aging network infrastructure, mitigate capacity
issues, and provide a supportable/scalable infrastructure that aligned IT and business capabilities.
Redesigned core network architecture in 90 days and 19% under budget that will allow the organization

Engineered and managed the technical infrastructure that supported Barclays Global Investor Active
Directory and mail/application integration that was operating across 14 data centers in 5 continents and
included 75,000 directory objects, over 100,000 mail objects, and over 1,400 applications.
Directed BCP and DR tests for Windows infrastructure, applications, and services that resided in 3 data
centers in the US and 2 data centers in the UK.
Renegotiated hardware vendor contracts for Windows, Linux, and Sun platforms that produced a 45%
savings over similar contracts from other hardware vendors and uplifted SLA performance to a 2-hour
response and 4-hour fix.
Architected and directed the pilot for an Exchange 2003/2007 to Exchange 2010 migration that ran
Exchange on a locally attached disk with full BCP capabilities and full failover in acceptable timings.
