Introduce students to the website Padlet.
Show them how to create a new one.
Show them the following: How to add
different comments to it. How to customise
comments. How to add pictures, change
background, change display picture, how to
change the layout etc
Ask students what this website might be
good for in class? Possible answers could

Were students surprised by how much they

information?

Reflection on Student Learning:

Activity designed to see where students knowledge on micro-organisms sat already. Some students had more knowledge tan others and
therefore were able to complete tasks relatively quickly compared to those who did have much knowledge. Have taken note of those students
who did well and also those students who were able to use padlet well and will assign pairs for the next class according to who they can help.
Students responded well to the discussion aspect of the lesson and were able to help each other form their answers and even began to ask
their own questions to each other to further their knowledge.
Reflection on Lesson:
Students worked extremely well during this lesson.
I spoke too fast in the beginning and had to repeat and/or rephrase some questions because some students could not keep up. When
modelling to students how to use padlet, at times spoke down towards the laptop I was using rather than towards the students.
Need to ensure I have all students attention before moving on with next activity or next instruction so I don't have students asking what is
happening.
Maybe could have had key instructions on how to use padlet on the board so students could refer to it. Most were able to use the application
successfully though and many had the confidence to troubleshoot themselves.
Other Notes: Next lesson needs to be changed as will not have access to computers on that day.
