Description:
Students walk into classroom; teacher greets students and directs them to sit down quietly on risers and/or carpet.
Daily Routines
-Entering classroom properly
-Sitting down quietly
-Greeting song
Listen to composer of the week and discuss the emotions transmitted by the music piece.
Questioning Strategies
-Are Tones important?
Students will learn the seven tones of music: C, D, E, F, G, A, B; Do, RE, MI, FA, SOL, LA, SI.
Students will learn that these same notes are used to play all other instruments.
. Students will practice the tones by playing row, row, row your boat on the xylophone.
- Students will learn the parts of the xylophone and how to take care of it.
- Students will sing row, row, row your boat
- Students will practice beat by finding the beat of the song.
- Students will learn and play the first two parts of the song using the xylophone.
Closing: Restate the importance of learning the tones and properly caring for instruments.
Modifications/Accommodations:
