The knowledge acquired in schools and colleges, I believe is not an

education, but the means to it. It is this belief that makes me student to end
of my days the obvious direction being curiosity towards exploration.
Through this statement of purpose, I have attempted to explain how I intend
to translate my learning in to construction and meaningful actions and
pursue MS in Mechanical Engineering from your reputed university.
During your childhood and you saw several things in your life, some of the
things were easy to understand but some of the things made you to think
about it and made you curious to dig deep about it and this thinking most
time become a profession of your life, physical science is one of the thing in
my life which always fascinates me and always made me curious and
anxious to know more about it and its behaviour and how it is affecting our
lives. Since child, I have always been amazed at how humankind has evolved
technologically from stone tools to mighty supercomputer. How
advancement has been done to facilitate humankind to ease their life.
Combined with my love of drawing out detailed blueprints of designs, my
interest in physics and curiousness to know how these changes occurred,
lend me to opt Mechanical Engineering as my undergrad major.
An undergrad level course in mechanical engineering provided me the first
exposure to the field of designing. Undergraduate studies revealed to me
limitless horizons in the field of Mechanical Engineering and it was a rich and
rewarding experience and work close with industry and gets to know about
real world of mechanical engineering and its applications. During my
undergraduate studies, where I worked on Hydraulic Robotic Arm as my
project .where we successfully built a small prototype ,which aim at
incorporating new ideas for developing new concept and efficient design of
robotic arm ,it was one of the Cost effective and simplified design of

hydraulic robotic arm. Four year of Undergraduate built a confidence to

explore more and more in this field and made me to do some further
research in this field and to continue my studies in mechanical engineering in
a world renowned graduate school.
After completing my undergraduate studies , JCB India ,Pune (a leading
construction equipment manufacturer)offered me a job ,I joined their as a
trainee in their Product Design Department ,my role was a design engineer
providing design support to various JCB divisions
around the globe, this role boosted the confidence in my knowledge and
capabilities. A consistent performance had given me an opportunity to work
in their Indian Headquarter. Where I started working with their Engineering
Team and work closely with live machines and attain good amount of
knowledge and get to know the real world of Mechanical Engineering. It was
challenging in the first time but JCB has taught me to see the biggest picture
and taught me how to convert challenges in to success .There I get to know
the practicability of my undergraduate design project with the live machines
and able to understand much better and closely. During the time in JCB, we
work on design and development of new projects (JIB-crane and Front axle
for Backhoe machine) from concept to final product and successfully
completed it .This consistent performance fetched me a promotion in second
year and upgraded to Assistant Manager, Three year working with JCB was
indeed a great learning, a learning by doing, Which made me to learn more
and provide more to this field of Mechanical Engineering.
The field of Mechanical Engineering is far from a strict science. It is an
integrated field that covers concepts from philosophy to civil works ,I have
had experience in both academic and industry aspects of this field and I
hope to be able to combine my knowledge from my experiences into a
holistic understanding of industry and the field itself, I felt that graduating
from your university holds a lot of promise to me ,the breadth and depth of
the courses coupled with a stimulating research environment seem to me
right mix for seminal work and pioneering research. I look forward to a
challenging career in research which maybe arduous and demanding at
times but i am confident that with my sincerity and dedication ,I will be able
to make a meaningful contribution to the on-going research developments
and live up to the high standards expected off your university .
Given an opportunity, i shall strive to channel my unbridled effort into more
productive avenues.
