The Brand
About the Logotype
The new EFI is not just an acronym for Electronics for Imaging.
It is the symbol that celebrates the convergence of the most
cutting-edge and trusted printing technologies in the world.
The all-around architecture of the new EFI logo is about
leadership and partnership, while the circular flow of its
letterforms embraces our open systems approach to industry
standards. The center portion of the logo is symbolic of its Fiery
genesis and creates a new vision of EFI as essential to print.

The
Logotype
Proper Use
The Logotype is the primary visual expression of the EFI brand.
Created as a custom letterform from the Univers typeface, the
Logotype and tagline may not be re-created, typeset, or altered
in any way.
For the new identity to be effective, weve retired the Electronics
For Imaging logo, the Best logo, the EDOX logo, the Printcafe
logo, the PrintMe logo, the Splash logo, the T/R Systems logo,
the Unimobile logo and the Velocity logo. These retired logos
must not be used.
The EFI Logotype must never be altered or redrawn in any way.
It is a distinct design that cannot be reproduced using standard
typefaces. Redrawing or misusing our Logotype will dilute and
weaken our visual identity and damage the integrity of our brand.
Your help in following the guidelines in this document will
ensure consistent representation.

through request to your local Marcom team.

Logotype
Minimum Size

9/16 (9mm)

The minimum size for the reproduction of the Logotype is 9/16


or 9mm. The Logotype should always be used in the size most
appropriate to the application in question. Templates are
provided throughout this guide and on the corporate intranet to
ensure the correct reproduction of the Logotype for the required
application.
As a rule, the Logotype appears at a consistent size of 1 or
26mm on all design applications up to US Letter or A4 in size.

Logotype
Logo Isolation Zone
The Logotype should always stand alone, separated from text
and graphics. To ensure that the reader/viewer is drawn to the
Logotype, and to protect it against encroachment by text and
graphic, always allow clearspace around the Logotype. This logo
isolation zone must be a minimum area of isolation around the
Logotype equal to the height of the e in efi. As the size of the
signature increases, the logo isolation zone must also be
increased.
Using the logo isolation zone correctly gives the Logotype the
prominence and space it deserves.
If the logo isolation zone is compromised, the Logotype will
become lost in the surrounding elements and prominence will
be reduced.

Logotype
Use with Partner Logos
When it appears with other company logos, the Logotype must
be larger or size equivalent to the other logotypes. The goal is to
have the EFI logo prominent or at the least have both logotypes
appear equal in weight and size to convey a similar visual
impact. This may mean that the measured sizes of the two
logotypes are slightly different to achieve visual equality.

When the EFI Logotype appears next to a partner logo, it is


necessary to increase the logo isolation zone around the
Logotype. The distance between the two logotypes should be
increased from e to a minimum of 2 e on either side of the
Logotype.

Use with the Fiery logo


EFI will retain use of the Fiery logo. The Fiery logo has immense
brand equity and recognition in the marketplace. When used
with the Fiery logo, the EFI Logotype should also be sized
equally or slightly larger than the Fiery logo to clearly
demonstrate the hierarchy of the two brands.

Acceptable Variations
Our Logotype works in a variety of applications and contexts.
This page presents the acceptable variations of our Logotype,
showing how to achieve maximum impact in any situation.
The primary application of the Logotype is PMS 287 on white.

1. The PMS 287 Logotype may be used only on white


backgrounds.

2. The black version of the Logotype may only be used on


documents that are to be output in black and white, and in
ads for publications that are printed in black and white.

3. The Logotype may also be knocked out as white when it


is depicted on a colored background. For communications
produced by EFI, the designated background colors are
PMS 287 Blue, PMS 2925 Cyan, PMS Cool Gray 11, PMS 208
Red, and PMS 130 Yellow, as shown on page 11 of the guide.
This knockout treatment is also permitted when the EFI logo
is represented in approved partner communications.

4. The Logotype may also be knocked out in white on a black


background on documents that are to be output in black
and white. This is also recommended for advertisements
in publications that are printed in black and white and for
merchandise such as clothing.

Palette
The EFI color palette is comprised of two color structures:
primary and secondary (accent) colors.

Primary Palette

The Blue (PMS 287) was selected due to its primary strength,
trustworthyness, reliability, and dependability our customers
require from EFI, yet its distinctive quality gives it the capability
to work effectively when portrayed with OEM or reseller logos.
The Cyan (PMS 2925) was selected to complement the primary
Blue as a highlight color, along with its ability to enhance images,
photography, and illustrations. Through its brightness it brings
an attention-getting, eye-catching quality to its applications.

Secondary Palette

Cool Gray 11 inspires confidence, making it ideal for web sites,


packaging, and products.
The secondary/accent colors of Red (PMS 208) and Yellow (PMS
130) were chosen to be used in a limited manner to both
highlight and bring greater interest to the page, UI, package, or
web design. Beyond being attention-getting, these are intended
to bring warmth, imagination and enlightenment to our content
and identity.
