Activity Specific Operational Guidelines (ASOG) - xxx xxx - 12201418 AFI-Rev 1

This setup applies when the vessel is carrying out Logistics operations for BSP.
NOTE:ASOG DOES NOT COVER DIVING OPERATIONS (ValidityPeriod: 18 March 2015)

DDEFAULT POSITIONING IN CASE OF LOGISTICS FUNCTIONS IS IN DRIFT OFF CONDITION. ANY

OTHER CONSIDERATION REQUIRES CONCURRENCE FROM SHORE BASED ACCOUNTABLE
PERSONNEL AND STRICT ADHERENCE TO ASOG.

VESSEL TO OPERATE IN CRITICAL ACTIVITY MODE (CAM). INSPECTION

REPAIR MAINTENANCE (IRM) WHILE EXECUTING DP CAM OPERATIONS NOT
PERMITTED

A CHANGE IN STATUS TO YELLOW OR RED TRIGGERS NOTIFICATION TO SHELL TA

(SIGNATORY ON STATEMENT OF VERIFICATION). VESSEL NOT PERMITTED TO
RETURN TO WORK AFTER YELLOW OR RED, WITHOUT CONCURRENCE FROM SHELL
TA. REQUIREMENT TO SEEK CONCURRENCE WAIVED FOR "PROACTIVE" or
"PRECAUTIONARY" YELLOWS INITIATED BY VESSEL OPERATIONAL TEAMS.
MARINE RISK TEAM 24 HOUR CONTACT NUMBER FOR IN SERVICE ISSUES/ASOG
DRIVEN NOTIFICATIONS +x xxx xxx

PRE WATCH AND PRE TASK MEETINGS TO COVER IJS SETUP AND USE, PRECAUTIONS ABOUT
INADVERTENT CHANGE OF MODE, NEED TO SETUP AND MONITOR POSITION OFFSETS
INDEPENDENT OF DP CONTROL SYSTEM

DEFAULT DP MODE: AUTO POSITION. DEFAULT CENTER OF ROTATION

(COR): CENTER OF GRAVITY. DEFAULT DP GAIN SETTING: MEDIUM.
EXPECTED WEATHER EVENTS TO TRIGGER CONSIDERATION OF USING HIGH
GAIN. USE OF LOW GAIN TO TRIGGER BLUE STATUS

When working within 500m zone, default position references sensors for this activity
are:
at least three independent systems in use (two different principles, different I/O and
different UPS)

Close proximity to surface facility (< 200m)- required position references systems (Cyscan, Mini
Radascan) to be on different UPS's. DGNSS may be used after ascertaining effectiveness (effects of
shadowing, surface facility movement etc.) If only a single relative system is operational, only snatch
lifts permitted (no hydrocarbon transfers or heavy lifts)

Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) of position monitoring systems to be

optimized to enhance position excursion monitoring and early warning
(Examples: ECDIS, position reference screens independent of control system
network (DP/IAS/PMS etc.)

Power Plant 2 Island configuration. Shaft Generators online and Auxiliary Diesel
Generators #1 and #2 on standby. BT3 not to be used.

Remote Access and Monitoring (DPCS/VMS/PMS)( if applicable) to be disabled and isolated during
Industrial Mission operations on DP. Enabling RAM requires written concurrence from Accountable
Senior Shell Representative. Effective control measures (including documented sign off by Vessels
Master ) to be in place to manage connecting external drives to DPCS/VMS/PMS

Reinstating equipment post failures requires vessel to safely suspend

operations, leave worksite / 500m zone prior to attempting reinstatement (e.g.
Low level auxiliaries, thruster, control voltages)

Vessel to be setup and stabilized upon arrival at worksite. DP checks to be done with
vessel at intended heading and thrust levels to be verified to be within ASOG limits.
Entry into 500m zone is in DP auto position mode

Default mode of exit from worksite until 200m off surface asset is on DP. This does not preclude
Master from departing in manual or joystick in response to loss of station keeping event or
necessitated by other emergencies

Independence and segregation of auxiliary systems supporting station keeping

equipment to be maintained and integrity of isolating valves to be validated and
verified. No cross connections in any auxiliary system

THRUSTER BIAS:- Default for CAM is bias released. Use of thruster bias to trigger a change of status to blue. Thrusters biasing if
needed and agreed upon is contingent upon bias being released at net thrust levels > 20% or on any thruster alarm condition

Starting of BT3 NOT allowed in the 500m zone.
