PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE
Licensed Graduate Social Worker - West Virginia Social Work Board. I have secured, and am
currently engaged in, supervision from a licensed clinical social worker.

FIELD EXPERIENCE
August 2009 Present, PRIDE/IV-E Contractor, Concord University, Athens, West
Virginia
Develop and deliver foster care training modules for professionals and parents on various topics
as requested by the Project Director, Dr. John David Smith. PRIDE/IV-E is funded by the West
Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources and the US Department of Health and
Human Services.

May 2007 May 2009, Social Work Internship, River Oaks Hospital, New Orleans,
Louisiana
Facilitated and co-facilitated family sessions, process and educational groups on the adult
inpatient unit. Coordinated discharge planning for adult patients and conducted psychosocial
assessments. Co-created a manual for educational group facilitation on the inpatient adult
psychiatric unit that can be integrated onto other adult psychiatric units. Provided assistance with
orienting new staff on the adult psychiatric unit.
Micro Level Experience
Worked with clients diagnosed with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities as a
Title XIX Waiver case manager. Though this experience I garnered insight into barriers
impacting daily life for those with special needs and the difficulties of meeting them in a lowincome rural community. At Southern Highlands I established a partner approach with the
intervention specialist to ensure waiver benefits were maximized reducing travel costs and
efficiently achieving program requirements. I further developed an appreciation of the needs of
persons with developmental disabilities through work with the Alabama Special Camp for
Children and Adults (ASCCA) where I worked as a camp counselor. At ASCCA I was exposed
to various issues and was challenged with the ambition of creating a vacation like experience for
consumers. Reducing consumer anxiety, promoting socialization, and meeting healthcare needs
were paramount in actualizing program goals. I worked with patients on an inpatient crisis
mental health unit of River Oaks Hospital, New Orleans, providing intake psychosocial
assessments and one-on-one counseling. Oriented new weekend social work staff to the crisis
unit and assisted with discharge planning.
At Concord University one major goal is to alleviate the stress associated with securing and
managing externally funded research and programming. I meet with faculty and staff to identify

Inghram

funding opportunities, and assist in program, budget, and proposal development. At the award
level I work with program directors ensuring that program goals are met in a compliant fashion.
Furthermore, I mentor and supervise a Grant and Contracts Assistant, and Grants and Contracts
Officer as well as multiple student workers, making certain that the principles of Research
Administration are learned, while meeting the needs of the institution. Student workers and prior
employees have developed the skills necessary to transition to larger institutions or to meet life
ambitions in other fields. As an educator, I meet with students for advising, and tutoring.
Mezzo Level Experience
As a case manager, I worked with clients and their families in treatment planning, and addressed
issues related to health, poverty, and lack of resources. In field placement I facilitated didactic
and process groups for patients in crisis and dealing with mental health issues. Also, I met with
families and treatment teams ensuring that patient needs were identified, discussed and
addressed. In addition, I co-designed a facilitator manual for group strategy and management at
River Oaks Hospital. Currently, I provide orientation training and support other special topic
presentations throughout the academic year on behalf of the Concord University Office of
Sponsored Programs. As a contractor, I wrote and designed a Pride module on internet safety for
foster and adoptive parent/provider training program. I have actively engaged in teaching for the
Social Work Department since Spring 2012 and I consistently receive positive feedback from my
students and social work faculty in regard to my teaching. I am a member of several boards and
committees.
Macro Level Experience
At Concord University I have designed and currently direct the Office of Sponsored Programs
(OSP). The OSP was created to assist the Concord University community in realizing its full
potential in achieving the highest caliber possible in sponsored research and programming. Since
the fall of 2009, the OSP has worked to be a leading and responsive source for information
relating to external funding opportunities and compliance in support of Concord University and
our surrounding community. I have managed and engaged in this effort by assisting faculty and
staff with the grant seeking and award process for sponsored programs and research. Below is a
list of some of the achievements of the OSP under my direction:

Combined the administration of the sponsored programs of the University and Corporation
Designed and implemented policies and procedures ensuring compliance with applicable
regulations
Recognize principal investigators for proposal writing and award receipt
Created partnerships with area institutions to make resources more readily available
Created a uniform database
Worked in tandem with the University Controller to establish a federally negotiated indirect cost
rate with the Department of Health and Human Services
OSP Student workers have found jobs in the Research Administration and writing fields upon
graduation
Assist University Advancement in securing funding designed to support commitments and
endowments for sponsored programming and research. Assisted with the receipt of over
$200,000 designed to support research
Implement Research Compliance programming ensuring that proper research and sponsored
program protocols are cultivated within the Concord community

Improved annual audits

Worked with Shepherd, WVSOM and West Liberty to establish similar offices as a best practice
Recipient of a EDA University Center Grant in collaboration with Marshall University and the
Robert C. Byrd Center for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing. This collaboration has also led to
additional funding this fiscal year through the Rural Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge
Initiative, one of 13 Rural Jobs Accelerator Grants awarded nationwide.
Created and maintain positive relationships with local, state, and federal legislators, funders,
and officials
Funding has increased since the offices inception. There is a significant increase in budgeted
indirect costs when comparing FY10 and FY15.

I have managed in excess of 260 awards totaling over $22 million since I arrived at Concord
University, worked with proposal writing teams for federal and state opportunities (including
BCF Curriculum and Research $1,000,000 over four years), and was instrumental in the design
of the EDA University Center and 3D Accelerator programs (total in excess of $500,000). I have
also received a $5,000 award from the Appalachian Regional Commission for proposal
development and $2,000 for the technology corridor program as project director. I was recently
co-awarded a field placement grant from the Council on Social Work Education to develop a
supervisor training and supervision program.
In addition to my work at Concord University, I also serve as an appointed director on the board
of the Mercer County Development Authority and Summers County REACHH and was an
elected Council Member on the Athens, WV Town Council for three terms (2011 -2015). Each
of these roles has enabled me to form relationships with many agencies that benefit Concord
Universitys Social Work Department. Some agencies that I work with, or have worked with, are
the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, Southern Highlands, Mercer
County Probation Office, CASE WV, Congressman Rahalls federal and state offices, Childrens
Home Society, WV Developmental Disability Council, River Oaks Hospital, and other
community, government, and social services agencies.
