Daily Checks/Power Up

Processing Controls

Power on the analyzer.


Log in.
Empty waste area (if necessary).
Clean Test Strip Transfer system.
Check paper.

Ensure analyzer is in Standby status.


Touch Workplace, then Run Control button.
Select the Control level to be analyzed.

Load test strip:
a. Remove a test strip from vial.
b. Dip the test strip into the appropriate
control material.
c. Rim off excessive control on the edge of
the control tube.
d. Verify test strip is not deformed or bent.

A deformed or bent test strip may not


be detected by the strip check sensor
of the instrument. If the test strip is
not detected, the strip measurement
will be missed.

e. Place the control test strip onto the


loading area.
6. Repeat steps 3-5 for remaining control levels.

Scan the sample barcode.

listed on the Worklist.
c. Rim off excessive sample on the edge
of the tube.

e. Place the test strip onto the loading area.


8. Repeat steps 4-7 for the next sample.

b. Enter Color, if necessary, and Clarity.

Processing Samples from a Work List (Barcoded ID entry)

Touch Work List.
Scan the first barcoded sample.
Touch
to enter Color, if necessary, and Clarity.

Repeat steps 4-6 for remaining samples.

to print the Work List.
Samples must be processed in the order listed. To prioritize (STAT) a sample in the
Work List, re-scan its barcode to move it to the top of the Work List.

9. Load the first test strip:


a. Remove a test strip from vial.
b. Dip the test strip into the first sample listed on the Work List.
c. Rim off excessive sample on the edge of the sample tube.
d. Verify test strip is not deformed or bent.
When using a worklist and the measurement of a deformed or bent test strip is missed
(undetected by strip check sensor of the analyzer), the results of the next strip might
be assigned to the sample ID of the test strip that was missed. This causes sample
mismatch in subsequent test strips within the worklist.

e. Place the test strip onto the loading area.


10. Repeat step 9 for the remaining samples on the Work List.
