Applying the innovative Philips LED solution for on-growing of Salmon:

Optimised light distribution
Optimised light spectrum
Anti-stress behaviour of the lighting
Results in benefits for Salmon farmers:
The Philips lighting solution attracts fish deep in the cage reducing sea lice
infections during summer and autumn
The Philips lighting solution penetrates light deep in the cages, minimizing
sexual maturation and maximizing the quality of the fish

The Philips lighting solution maximizes the useful light for the fish:
Increasing growth rate
Reducing the feed conversion ratio
The Philips lighting solution reduces stress levels the fish
The Philips lighting solution improves the fish welfare reducing mortality

Creating uniform light distribution

Conventional Metal Halide emits
horizontally, resulting in some
lighting pointing upwards and
downwards

Philips lighting solution emits a wide

and uniform lighting, resulting in a
distribution covering large areas
downwards

Negligible light level above and high

intensity underneath the luminaires

Philips LED luminaires are placed at 8 m depth in the water
The light is used during summer and autumn to keep the fish
swimming deep in the water in order to minimize contamination of
salmon with sea lice
The same lighting equipment can be used during winter in order to:
Increasing growth rate
Reducing the feed conversion ratio
Improve welfare and reducing mortality
