Task Performed This Month:
I started my internship from 7th July 2016 in Tata Communication Limited, and we went office
and meet there Mr. Vineeth R Nair, who is our company guide, taught us three techniques to take
information from the company, (call, and mail, meet).Before joining, We were told to make the
list of all the companys product and services Portfolio. He asked some question from me related
to Assignment. We were given a short introduction about the Network. We were taught the basics
of internet leased line, different rate for different leased line bandwidth, the difference between
leased line and broadband. We were introduced with all the products and services provided by
Tata communication Limited. Our company guide conducted some activities, wherein he picked
up 4 person randomly and gave them some task to perform by which he was trying to teach us
practically, how one should talk with the customer and deal with them. The company Tata
communication Ltd provides training to the interns and makes them ready to work on the field
and deal with customer over the phone. Our company guide, told us to call different IT/Telecom
companies and gather information about their Leased Line and other tele-services. Also, we were
asked to fill the same information in the Excel file. Our company guide showed us the live
telecast presentation of Tata products that was taking place at the different branch of Tata group,
they were presenting the Tatas product (Jamvee video conferencing product) with their customer
on Skype.
On 20 Jul 2016, our company guide sent me to the office of their business partner where HR took
my interview and asked some question about Tata products. Later she guided me about how to
talk and convince a customer. My HR manager assigned me work cold calling. I was provided
with a database which consisted of companys name, Phone number along with their address. But
mostly number was wrong in the database, I searched all the detail about those companies and
prepared the document. Afterwards, I started to call those IT companies and spoke with their IT
manger. First, I tell the customer about Tata Communication and the services we provide like the
LL, MPLS, Data Centre, Point to Point, Audio & video Conference, IZO, managing security,
firewall. If a customer has such a requirement, then I fix meeting with company guide or forward
the call to the manager and collected the information about the existing network service provider,
bandwidth, and Feedback and also collect the Email Id, Personal phone number of IT manager
for future reference and fill the excel sheet. If customer has no requirement then we convince

them to attend the meeting with company guide and reply the mail which our HR manager will
send the mail to them. End of the day, I am supposed to make an excel sheet and fill the all same
information and submit it to the HR manager of partner company and our company guide.
Sometimes we get a positive response from an IT manager and sometimes just the opposite of it.
Sometimes, customer is having some doubt and they ask us, If I take the service from partner of
TCL instead of TCL Company, then what is the benefit and difference?? So in such cases, I
explain them and try my best to clear their doubts.
During this month, I called approximately 150 IT companies and I have spoken 75 IT. In this
month, I generated two prospects for TCL, who has a requirement of ILL of TCL. My manager
and I are planning to go to visit the company in the coming month.

Personal Development:

I did not have any experience of working within any company, I did not have any idea about how
a company work, what are the different functions of a company, and how to run a business. I
learned that what the basic needs of running a business successfully. I am improving my
Communication Skills by working with my colleagues and communicating with the clients of the
Tata Communication Company. And also improving technical knowledge, personality, and
presentation skill. During internship, I get different ideas and it is developing my mind. Before
internship in Tata Communication Limited, I did not have much knowledge about the internet
connectivity and their networking products and services.
During internship, I gained an in-depth knowledge about the internet connectivity and
Networking. Also, I am talking with customers over the phone and I receive their perception. So,
by this I am improving my marketing skills. I also learned how to deal with the time pressure and
how to prioritize the work efficiently. I have learned the importance of time and how and where
to use our time. I have learned how to talk with customers and represent in front of them and deal
with them. I am developing skills of dealing with customers professionally. I am developing the
art of managing stress and workload, i.e. the most important thing that most of the people dont

able to manage. I am gaining knowledge about the networks product and services, and I am also
getting well versed with how these services work which actually connects us globally. I am being
taught how to convince the people on phone professionally.
Tata communication is a Business to Business market, I have theoretical knowledge about the
Business to Business marketing and Business to Customer marketing but during this internship,
and also got idea which kind of customer and company using internet connectivity. Tata
communication is a Business to Business market, I am getting a practical exposure to B2B
marketing and B2C marketing. I am supposed to learn and experience the company visit and
interact with customer. Probably Next time, I would get chance to visit a company.
