Activity 1.1 OPENING LabVIEW WINDOW
1. Question: What options do you see as the Welcome screen of LabVIEW 2012
appears? What do the following options indicate?
-- Ans. Welcome screen indicated a procedural link on creating blank or new
creation of your project also seen all created projects by clicking the other link of
your stored files.
2. Question: How many windows did you see as you click on the Blank VI? What are
the functions of these windows? SCREEN-CAPTURE these windows and provide this
on your activity report for this specific question.
-- Ans. When you have created a new vI or selected an exixting VI, the FRONT
PANEL and BLOCK DIAGRAM for that specific VI will appear.

3. Question: As you browse on the Controls Palette, what options do you see?
Enumerate these options and state their functions. SCREEN-CAPTURE these options
and provide this on your activity report for this specific question.
-- Ans. In labview you build a user interface or front panel with controls and
indicator, Control are knobs,push button and other input devices and
indicators.Sample of that is the Numeric option where you can find the Numeric
Contol or a numeric indicator.

ACTIVITY 1.2: EXPLORING LabVIEW FRONT PANEL TOOLS

Question: In LabVIEW, what is the main function of CONTROLS?
-- Ans. Main function of that is when you entering a value for your project, other
than that is the appearance given cause it has an increment and decrement button
in front.

Question: In LabVIEW, what is the main function of INDICATORS?

-- Ans. Indicators has a darker background color in order to indicate that its
"read only".

2. Question: What is/are difference/s between the controls fetched from an ordinary
controls palette and the tools obtained from a Silver palette?

-- Ans. Differentiating between an ordinary control pallette to the silver

pallete is only the color appearance contained.Silver Pallete contained silver and
unique color and for the ordinary control pallete contained a colorful tools.

3. Question: What are the options do you see on the Tools Palette Window. Explain
the functions of these

Operating tool -shown at the left,to change the values of control or select the
text within a control,it also change the icon when it moves over a text control.
Positioning tool -the process is to select,moves over the edge of a resizable
object.
Labelling tool -edit text and create free labels.the Labelling tool changes the
following icon when you create free labels.
Wiring Tool - to wire objects together on the block diagram.

oBSERVATION:
Labview ties the creation of user interfaces called front panel, into the development
cycle.Labview programs are called virtual instruments each VI has tghree
components a block diagram, a front panel and a connector panel.The last is used
to represent the VI in the block diagrams of other called VIs.Controls and indicators
on the front panel allow an operator to input data into or
extract data from a running virtual instrument.
