The Yeshiva proudly boasts a 1:3 teacher-to-student ratio (22 Rebbeim
for 62 Shana Aleph students in 08-09).

Our Rebbeim take a special interest in our students individual

interests and needs.

Each of our students has the opportunity to learn one-on-one with

a Rebbe.

A ll full- time faculty live within walking distance of the yeshiva.
Each student truly becomes part of the Lev HaTorah family.

A weekly Town-hall meeting with the Rosh Yeshiva creates a

forum for dialogue on important issues.

Semicha Educators Program

e are proud to announce the

launching of our Semicha
Educators Program. Five students are
now learning in a unique and intensive
4 year program which will culminate in
the completing of a Teachers Degree
from Machon Herzog of Yeshivat Har
Etzion, along with Semicha. In addition,
the students benefit from a thorough
curriculum in Tanach and Jewish
Philosophy. Each Semicha student allots
time in his weekly schedule for chevrutot
with Shana Aleph students.

through the philosophical and halachic issues
you will face at college and in the work place.

Out Shabbatot / Bein HaZmanim

The yeshiva is never closed. From
the first day until the last day, on free
Shabbatot and during Bein HaZmanim, you
have your own room and have the option of
eating meals at the yeshiva.
Home away from home Our new
apartments offer you both comfort and privacy.
Rooms typically contain only two students, with
3-5 rooms per apartment. Experienced madrichim
provide guidance and supervision.
Yeshiva Shabbatot and Chagigot Serve Hashem
with joy. Our students are inspired by ruach-filled
davening, yeshiva chagigot, Shabbatonim, Friday
night Onegs and Melaveh Malkas.
Food Our own cook delights in

The Staff
Rav Boaz Mori

Rosh HaYeshiva
The visionary behind Yeshivat Lev HaTorah, Rav
Boaz Mori received his Semicha from Yeshiva
University. While teaching at BMT, Har Etzion,
Shaarei Mevasseret Zion & Machon Gold, Rav Boaz developed
a new, innovative approach to the Yeshiva in Israel experience,
which ultimately became the foundation for Lev HaTorah.
Countless of students have been inspired by his personal
warmth, keen insights, and selfless devotion.

Rav Michael Cytrin

Educational Director
A graduate of Darche Noam (Shapell's) and the
Meretz Kollel in Mevasseret Tzion, Rav Cytrin
spent five years as the Head of Judaic Studies
at Yavneh Academy in Dallas, Texas. Rav Cytrin has a B.A.
from the University of Texas and a Masters in Education from
Columbia University. After making aliya, Rav Cytrin served in
the IDF. He excels at explaining the logic and methodology of
the Talmud in a clear fashion.

Rav Yehoshua Fass

Practical Halacha

As the Executive Director of Nefesh BNefesh, Rav

Fass has almost single-handedly revolutionized
North American Aliya. He received Semicha from
Yeshiva University and was the Associate Rabbi
of Boca Raton and a member of the Beit Din of South Florida.
He teaches a very popular weekly shiur in Practical Halacha,
and hosts a shiur at his home every Shabbat afternoon.

Rav Asher Friedman

Night Seder Rebbe;

Machshava & Chumash
Rav Asher received Semicha from Yeshiva
University. Experienced in both formal and
informal teaching, he has published in the field of educational
philosophy. Rav Asher encourages his students to grow as
independent thinkers and serious Ovdei Hashem.

Rav Michael Siev

Shana Aleph Masmidim Program

Rav Siev earned his B.A. in history from Yeshiva
University. He received Semicha from RIETS and
a Masters degree in Jewish education from the
Azrieli Graduate School. He has studied and taught at Yeshivat
Har Etzion. Rav Siev conveys the depth and sophisitication of
conceptual learning with his students.

Rav Binyamin Kwalwasser

Mashgiach Ruchani

Rav Kwalwasser has completed an M.S. in

Education and received his Semicha from Yeshiva
University. He has taught at numerous post-high
school yeshivot. He is a drummer in a band, and a founder of
the Beis Tefilah community in Ramat Beit Shemesh. Along with
personally mentoring students in their growth, he particularly
enjoys teaching them the skills that enable them to learn

Rav Natanel Lebowitz

Rav Natanel received Semicha from Yeshiva
University. He was the Assistant Mashgiach Ruchani
at Yeshivat Shaalvim and has taught at Midreshet
Moriah & BMT. During the summers he serves as
the Program Director for the NCSY Kollel. Rav Natanel has a unique
ability to form deep and lasting relationships with his students.

Rav Mordechai Machlis

Afternoon Seder Rebbe

Rav Machlis, a musmach of Torah v'Daath, is
known throughout Jerusalem for the depth of
his Torah insights and for his incredible acts of
chessed.A well-known and beloved educator, he
has been teaching for 30 years. His family's Shabbat meals are
shining examples of chessed and Jewish unity, hosting up to 100
guests at a time from across the spectrum of Jewish observance.

Rav Shamai Warman

Shana Bet Rebbe

Rav Shamai's mastery of Shas makes him a

sought-after resource for Lev HaTorah's students.
He is a veteran teacher, capable of decoding and
clarifying the most difficult sections of Talmud. In
addition to Lev HaTorah, he teaches at Yeshivat Mitzpeh Yericho,
one of the most prestigious Israeli high-school yeshivot.

Rav Naftali Derovan


Rav Jake Vidomlanski

Director of Shana Bet Program

Rav Jake served as a Shoel UMeishiv at
Yeshivat Shaalvim and has taught at Reishit
Yerushalayim. He serves as the Sgan Rosh
Moshava at Camp Moshava (Indian Orchard). Known for his
boundless commitment to his students, he excels at helping
them realize their undiscovered strengths.

Rav Mordechai Kaplan

Night Seder Rebbe;

Director of Torat Eretz Yisrael Program
Rav Mordechai received Semicha from Yeshiva
University. A passionate and inspirational educator,
Rav Mordechai has held positions of Head
Counselor and Camp Rabbi at IBA and currently is the Director of
Tiyulim & Special Programming at the NCSY Kollel. Talmidim are
attracted to Rav Mordechais sincerity, ruchnius & warmth.

Rav Dudi Winkler

Morning Seder Rebbe; Av Bayit

Rav Dudi studied in Yeshivot Hesder Eli and
Dimona, and then received his Semicha and
Teachers Certificate from the Meretz Kollel in
Mevasseret. Rav Dudi served as a Combat Medic in the IDF.
Our Av Bayit, his enthusiasm and warm personality make him
a perfect fit for the job.

Rav Derovan is a graduate of Yeshivat Or Etzion

and Beit Morasha in Jerusalem. He has a B.Ed
from Machon Herzog Teachers College. He is a
veteran teacher of Tanach who brings alive the
world of Tanach for his students at Lev HaTorah. He is a teacher
for the Institute of Jewish Studies, seeing converts through the
process of becoming part of Am Yisrael.

Rav Benny Eisner

Torat Eretz Yisrael

Rav Benny learned at Yeshivat Merkaz HaRav
and was a close talmid of Rav Tzvi Yehuda
HaCohen Kook. He taught at BMT for close to
three decades, and continues to teach in a wide
variety of educational settings. Rav Bennys passion for Eretz
Yisrael, Am Yisrael and Torat Yisrael has inspired two generations
of students.

Rav Natan Slifkin

Rav Natan Slifkin, the world-famous "Zoo Rabbi",
is the author of numerous books on the interface
between Torah, the animal kingdom, and the
natural sciences. His innovative career, described
at, has been featured in The
New York Times and numerous other forums.

Nachman Rosenberg
Torat Eretz Yisrael

Nachman is a graduate of the Yeshivat Hesder

in Maaleh Adumim, and Kolllel Torah MiTzion
in Chicago. Nachman has taught at Midreshet
Lindenbaum and Machon Gold. His passion lies in the teachings
of Rav Kook and nurturing a deep connection to Eretz Yisrael.

Rav Yehoshua Paltiel

Morning Seder Rebbe

Rav Paltiel has a B.A. in Jewish History from YU.
He served in the IDF armored corps, after which
he earned his Semicha from the Meretz Kollel in
Mevasseret Tzion. Rav Paltiel excels at systematically enabling
students to develop their textual and analytic Talmud skills. He is
also a certified counselor in Neuro-Linguistic Psychology.

Rav Uri Etigson

Machshava & Chumash

Rav Uri received Semicha as well as an M.A. in Jewish
Philosophy from YU, where he specialized in Kabbala
and Chassidut. He has served as a Hospital Chaplain
in the IDF. A veteran teacher of many American yeshiva programs, he
enjoys exploring life's deepest questions with his students.

Rav Yisrael Herczeg

Tanach and Chumash

Rav Yisrael Herczeg studied under Rav Leib
Bakst zt"l and Rav Zvi Kushelevsky shlit"a, and
has Semicha from Yeshivat Itri. He is the author
of many books, including the ArtScroll translation of Rashi's
commentary on the Torah, the Abarbanel Haggadah, and the
Vilna Gaon Haggadah.

Dr. David Kallus

Shana Bet Shoel UMeishiv

Dr. Kallus learned at Yeshivat Shaalvim and
Yeshiva University. His goal is to inculcate in
the talmidim the reality that Torah study and a
professional life can work hand in hand. He is a
practicing periodontist and a Diplomate of the
American Board of Periodontology.

Rav Eyal Gottlieb

Practical Halacha
Rav Gottlieb received his Semicha from the Chief
Rabbinate of Israel. He studied in Yeshivat Mercaz
Harav for nine years, and then served in the Combat
Engineers Corps in the Israel Defense Forces. Rav
Gottlieb was born in the U.S. but has spent half his life in Israel. In
addition to teaching in Lev HaTorah he also teaches in Yeshiva Tichonit
Madait in Rishon Letzion.

Rav Menachem Copperman

Semicha Educators Program

Rav Copperman is a graduate of the Bet El Yeshiva and

has received Semicha from the Chief Rabbinate of
Israel. He has recently completed the prestigious Eretz
Chemda Dayanut program and was the editor of their
Torah publication, Chemdat Haaretz. He currently serves as the
Rav of Kehillat Ahavat Tzion in Ramat Beit Shemesh.
