the medicines in the area is suitable to store
not knowing if the medicine is needed on the
area. Preferably, if the medicine is not needed, it
will be useless and will be a candidate for
expiration.

The proponents, knowing this factors had the


vision to initiate and develop a system that helps

manner that it will not be put into a condition that
it is not usable anymore when stored.

With the cooperation of a number of Barangay Health Centers,


the proponents aims to revive them and make use of what the
government can offer, it seeks to revive this objectives;

1. To disseminate and to properly use the budget for allocation
of medicines given by the government.
2. To extract information for inventory of medicines and then
shares this information on the website to be helpful for other
health centers if they can offer medicines on other areas.
3. To maintain quality of medicines that typically retain its
value to treat diseases and should be put into good use
before it expires.
4. To create a social medium that is better suited to addressing
the needs of the one who will use the system and the people
that will benefit from it.

Significance of the Study

Significance of the Study


The significance of this study is to provide a decision
support system for Barangay Health Centers. The system is
web-based and includes information exchange to other
barangay health centers that can provide them a data to help
them on medicine allocation and request for medicines in
other centers. Since the area the proponents are focusing on
the solution to properly allocate the medicines in an area, its
main beneficiaries are the Barangay Health Centers and the
citizens living in the Philippines.

Scope and Limitations

Scope and Limitations


MediSYNC will focus on entities whom are working at
Barangay Health Centers. Health Administrators and staff at the
center will be the primary users of the system. Although, the
website can be accessed by a regular citizen, but it can only
provide basic features not similar to the main users of the
system.
The developers limits the system in three Barangay Health
Centers that has an availability of a one computer unit and an
internet connection.

Operational Definition of Terms


1. Dashboard the main interface of the system. It provides a
birds eye view of the reports generated in different barangay
health centers
2. ROR(Request of Release) term used to request medicines
in another barangay and must have an approval on the other
party.
3. MIU(Medicine Inventory Update File) term used to the
general file of inventory that makes the system work. It is
the central database of the system.
