Dual Seizure (Circuit-Glare)

PGW2200

MSC 1

IAM with CIC 10

IAM with CIC 10

Trigger: node at each end of a two-way trunk attempts to set uo a call over THE
SAME BEARER at THE SAME TIME
What to do when circuit glare happens? One node must back down and give
control to the other end. Two methods are commonly used to decide which end
should take control:
- Higher-numbered point code takes control of even CICs, lower-numbered point
codes takes control of odd CICs
- Prior agreement between two nodes about which end will back down when
glare occurs
Avoiding glare: trunk selection algorithm
- Ascending Vs Descending, Most idle Vs Least idle, Even vs Odd

Blocking (BLO) Sent to the far end to indicate the blocking of a circuit.
Blocking Acknowledgement (BLA) Sent as an acknowledgement in
response to a BLO.
Circuit Group Blocking (CGB) Sent to the far end to indicate blocking for
a range of circuits. The CICs must be contiguous for the group of circuits
being blocked.
Circuit Group Blocking Acknowledgement (CGBA) Sent as an
acknowledgement in response to a CGB.
Unblocking (UBL) Sent to the far end to indicate the unblocking of a
blocked circuit.
Unblocking Acknowledgement (UBA) Sent as an acknowledgement in
response to a UBL.
Circuit Group Unblocking (CGU) Sent to the far end to indicate
unblocking for a range of blocked circuits.
