I think data is wrong. some typing mistake is there .

If A and C can do it in 4 days, then one of A or C can do it alone in less than 8 days.then group having that

person will not take more than 8 days which is not the case.

Good observation, Mr. S. Singh.

It means one of A/C is really very fast.

Then the group having that person should not take more than 8 days.

Mr. Vignesh can definitely give some logic for 120 days as least time for fastest person..

But even if two persons with min time of 120 days work together, they will take at least 60 days.

How will he justify for only 4 days taken by A and C ?

the first drop is 120 m.After this the ball will rise by 96m and then again fall by 96 m.This process will

continue in the form of infinite G.P with starting term as 120 and common ratio of 4/5 i.e. 0.8.

So using a/(1-r)={120/(1-0.8) + 96/(1-0.8)}

Is this solution Helpfull? Yes (4) | No

After the drop, it travels down for h meters and rebounds back to 4h/5 and travels down 4h/5 and

rebounds back 4/5(4h/5) etc...

The total distance it travels = h + 4h/5+ 4h/5+ 4/5(4h/5)+ 4/5(4h/5) + 4/5*4/5(4h/5)+...

S= h + 2*4h/5 + 2(4/5)(4h/5) + ....

= h + 2{4h/5 + 4/5(4h/5) + ....}

= h + 2(Sum of infinite GP with initial term 4h/5 and common ratio 4/5)

Formula: Sum of Infinite GP with initial term a and common ratio r is a/(1-r)

S = h + 2{(4h/5)/(1-4/5)}

= h + 8h = 9h = 9*120 = 1080

Note: two things required to solve this problem are,

first- deciding how much distances it travels before and after each rebound

second- formula for infinite GP.

Is this solution Helpfull? Yes | No (1)

the ans will be 1080m

a=196

so the sum of n terms of GP is

o/p:65,101,41

Bcz %d is decimal notation so 65 is decimal number so without converting we directly printing value

65.%o is octal notation so convert decimal number to octal number by dividing 65 with 8 then we get 101.

65/8 gives 8 as quotient and 1 as remainder and again divide quotient 8 with 8 then we get 1 as quotient

and 0 as remainder this process is repeated until the quotient is divisible by 8 then the result should be

remainders which are to be taken from last to first ie,101.

next,%x is hexadecimal notation so convert decimal to hexa similar to octal bt we have to divide 65 with

16 then the result is 41

Vikas's rank in the class is 9 so there are 8 people before him. his rank among boys is 4, so 3 boys are

There are 5 girls ahead of Vikas and 3 boys ahead of Vikas as Vikas's Rank among the boys in that class is

4th from the top and his averall rank is 9 th.

Tanvi's rank amomg girls from top is 8th.

so there are 2 girls in between Vikas and Tanvi.

Is this solution Helpfull? Yes (12) | No

given: vikas is 9 th topper of the class. that means there are 8 students before him. also vikas is 4 th

among boys. that means before vikas there should be 3 boys and the remaining girls before vikas should

be 8=3=5. since tanvi is 17th and vikas is 9 th there is a gap of 8 between them. now since vikas is ahed

of tanvi all the girls getting higher rank that tanvi are present between tanvi and vikas.but already 5 girls

who hav higher rank are ahed of vikas. so the remaining is 7-5 =2.
