involves a handful of resources be it the manpower or the money. A dedicated team of students

completed in class till now.
Background
A placement cell usually consists of an entire panel that helps students during graduation. You can
go to them and they will help you out with placements after college. Another advantage is that some
placement cells will help you prep for interviews. They will also give you tips about improving your
resume so that you walk into an interview, prepared and ready to face your potential employer.
The best part here is that companies will come to your campus without you having to knock on
various doors for jobs. Companies pick different universities every year to visit and recruit on the
spot. This makes things very easy for students because they dont have to run around in circles. They
can show what theyve got in the campus itself and they will be recruited if the companies like them.
This benefit is what makes students choose universities based on the companies that have visited
them in the past. Good companies visiting a campus is testimony that the university is a reputed one.
Campus Recruitment Process: During the Campus Recruitment Process (CRP), fresher and
students with prior work experience of less than 20 months, participate. CRP is tentatively scheduled
during first half of January. NITIE follows a slot process where-in companies are slotted on different
days based on various criteria Profiles Offered, Career Growth Opportunity, Remuneration, Past
Relationships with the company etc.
Placement Procedure
Summer internship Placements: Summer Internship forms an integral part of the course
curriculum at NITIE. The aim of this internship programme is to consummate theoretical knowledge
with practical exposure.
Lateral Recruitment Process: The Lateral recruitment process (LRP) is run in conjunction with the
Campus Placements. It facilitates the students having rich work experience interacting with the
corporate. LRP provides the opportunities to both students and corporate to leverage their rich and
diverse work experience.
Campus Recruitment Process: NITIE follows a Slot Process, where the recruiting companies are
slotted based on different days with regard students preferences. Their preferences are based on
various criteria such as Job Profile offered, Career Growth opportunities, Remuneration etc. The
criteria and slot process varies each year. The companies submit their shortlists in a sealed envelope
to the Placement Office. After the closure of the placement day, the placement office opens the
envelopes and students confirm their acceptance of job offers. Companies are informed by the
Placement office about the confirmation of job acceptance by the respective students.
