Nursing as my Career
Having had several encounters with medical professionals, I have gradually developed a
desire to take up nursing as a career. Their diligence, passion and fulfillment have inspired me to
match up their accomplishments. In addition I have a desire and passion to help and care for
people. I remember for instance a time I was admitted in a hospital, the treatment I received
inspired to reciprocate the same and impact into other people lives. This inspired me to take up
this career and make an impact in the lives of vulnerable people as well as educating the
community at large on health matters (Masters).
Nursing will offer me an opportunity to work diligently and achieve fulfillment of
changing patients lives. In addition to being a highly rewarding profession in terms of wages, I
can easily work in a fast paced work environment anywhere and portray my true passion for this
profession. I believe I have the necessary skills and traits to match up the requirements of this
field. Apart from having patience and dedication, I am highly attentive to details, neat, and well
organized therefore this will enable me to establish good relations with the patient.
Nursing is a fulfilling, diverse and influential profession. Indeed its more than a
profession. This is because nurses strive to make the world better by caring for sick at their
vulnerable state, educating the public on health matters as well as preventing diseases. Through

this, one is able to have a positive impact in peoples lives (Schmidt). Irrespective of whether
the act is noticed or not, it leaves a great measure of emotional fulfillments that outweighs all the
challenges that maybe encountered. The excitement is always constant and there are endless
opportunities to learn each day.
