I. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:

We have observed the following quality problems associated in payment system


1. COST OF TRANSPORTATION AND TIME EFFECTIVELY
a. In paying the tuition fee theres a tendency that too many students fall in
line so some students gets bored and leave thinking they can come back
again tomorrow
b. Students who are bored in paying the tuition fees will think that there is
another day to pay as long as its not the deadline of payment so the
tendency he or she will go home, so the expense of the students will get
higher
2. There are times that the flow of line is very slow
a. Because of the dozens of students who will pay the tuition fee the flow of
the line is too slow and we only have a few cashier booth that also takes
their lunch break increasing the leftover line from the morning to the
afternoon line thus making the line longer.

IV. RECOMMENDATIONS AND BENEFITS:
In order to serve better the ultimate beneficiary of New Era University, Team A is proposing the
following quality improvement:
1. METHOD OF PAYMENT
Upgrading the payment methods of all enrollment transactions into a more accessible and easier method of
payment.
PRESENT
PROPOSED

At present, New Era Universitys cashiers are


experiencing very long line of payees and very
slow movement in the flow of line

The proposal is that, instead of going to the school


manually and paying your fees or transacting overthe-counter, students/customers who will be paying
their tuition fees can now go to the bank nearest to
their homes and make their transactions there.
Benefits:
a. Payment center will be more accessible to
clients, especially to those are still living
in the province, or even the busy one.
b. Credit cards can now be used for payments
c. Transactions can be made faster due to
smaller number of clients in the bank
during enrollment periods.
But, they can still do the traditional mode of
payment, which going directly to the universitys
cashier and do the payment manually.

ENVIRONMENT
Giving the clients an alternative that instead of waiting in line without equipments other than
fresh air and a bench, they will be going to a fully-air conditioned facility.
PRESENT

PROPOSED

Environment can be a little bit harsh at times,


especially since we are living in a tropical country
which experiences hot and rainy climate, because
of that the queue of clients at the cashier who is in
an open area are the ones that gets affected first.

Give the clients a more organized way of payments,


queuing of people, and more comfortable and
accessible payment methods.

Make an agreement with banks to be able to


allow or accept payments from clients of
New Era University for their tuition fees.

Benefits:
a. Environment in a bank is more comfortable
than the environment in an open area.

b. The queue of clients is more organized


inside the bank.
