Engineering an 800xA System

9.1.1 General Information

In this exercise you will learn how to set the IP-Address of a controller and to
download a application into the controller.

9.1.1.1 Objectives
The objectives of this chapter are:
Learn how to set a IP-Address to the controller
Check the firmware
Download a application into the controller
Work with the System Diagnostics of the Control Builder

9.1.2 Exercise Steps

9.1.2.1 Set controller IP-Address with IP-Config tool
Open the IP-Config tool and set an IP-Address to your controller. Take care about
using this IP-Address only once in your network.

9.1.2.2 Check the firmware of the controller

Open the Remote system functionality for your controller and find out the version
of the loaded controller firmware. Is this firmware fitting to the version of your 800xA
system?

9.1.2.3 Download application into the controller

Download the application Tank1 into the controller.

9.1.2.4 Deal with the System Diagnostic functionality

Browse to Program3 of your application and open the Interaction Window for the
System Diagnostic function block. Find out the memory consumption of your
application.
