The speech given by Martin Luther King Jr.

on 4th April 1967, protests the

command, deployment and the violence against the people and the land of Vietnam for the
declared purpose of protecting them from the menace of world communism. King is
against this unjust practice and wants to demolish it. He abhors idea of
the injustice faced by the lower class people and the growing deaths in
Vietnam. His aim was to help and improve lives of the people suffering
during this facet.
The speech by Martin Luther King Jr. emphasizes on the dehumanizing
power of war and how it affects the people facing it. The war is an enemy
for the poor people as it is taking away vital resources from programs for
the poor. He has also talked about considered the dilemma faced by poor
Americans who are fighting and dying in abundant numbers in Southeast
Asia when they were not even able to attend the same school in the
United States of America. This is referred as manipulation of the poor. By
embracing the fact of people suffering would lead to an economic
breakdown and thus poverty. This would be a bad sign for the United
States and slow down its growth and productivity due to such practices.
Kings speech thus, makes the States consider the impact these practices
would have on the economy if this matter is not looked after. Never to
forget the poor people will be able to connect their situation with this
facet of the speech.
Martin Luther King Jr. raises a point against the government, that
somehow it is itself responsible for the death of the innocent whites and
blacks. The point which Martin Luther King Jr. raises is consolidated by the
fact that these practices would only be blocked once wars stop. This made
audience think about the different ways in which government is
unnecessarily exploiting the innocent and how King makes a valid point
towards these actions. This leads to the people sympathizing with Kings
idea and thus this made his speech effecting.
If anyone is concerned about the honor and life of America, then they
cant ignore the present war. If United states of America wants tranquility
and peace it needs to empower compassion, morality and unity among
the the rich and poor. The States shall also consider the economic impact
on it due to these wars and practices i.e. loss or productivity, wealth,
disparity between rich and poor and low standards of living. Martin Luther
King Jr. thinks that these practices will carry on unless the people facing it
raise their voices and amend
to stop the wars leading to separation of humankind.
