First Fortnightly report

On 18th July 2016, I joined MCB Islamic Bank Ltd., as internee. Due to my final
examination in that specific week, I was given relaxation by the Branch Manager to
take some vacations. In that week I didnt did anything but to get familiar with the
bank staff in the last two days of that week.
After the exams were over, I joined the organization properly. In the 2 nd week, I was
working with the Operations Manager Mr. Salman Javed, who taught me different
Islamic Banking terms and the difference between commercial banks and Islamic
banks. The major difference between the two types of banking and the things, and
ways to doing those things, in an Islamic bank was taught to me.
In next week, I was appointed with the Accounts Department supervised by Miss
Nusrat. She taught me the things to be done while opening a new account or
closing any account. In this week my duties were to entertain the new account
opening customers and to check for the procedures and pre requisites of opening an
account.

Second Fortnightly report

It was 3rd week of my internship. I worked in the same Accounts department. In this
week my duties were to check for all things that were needed to open an account.
In this week some extra duties like receiving the applications for Checkbooks and
ATM cards and checking for all required things in their forms, were also included.
Activation of Dormant Account was also one of my duties. In general, a low-balance
savings account which has shown no activity (deposits and/or withdrawals) over a
long period, other than posting of the interest and/or service charges is called
Dormant Account. Statute of limitations usually does not apply to dormant accounts,
and their funds can be claimed by their owner or beneficiary at any time.
So dealing with such customers and looking for the problems being faced by
customers was also part of my duties.
In 4th week, I was shifted to the GBO (General Banking Officer) Mr. Hammad
Hassan. He was the head of Clearance Department. He taught me about the inward
and outward clearance. The things to check, while clearing any instrument. The
stamps and signatures required for clearance etc. In this week I used to get familiar
with the clearance processes.
