Air pollution:

Air pollution is one of the main types of pollution to the environment!

What is Air pollution?
Air pollution can be found in the form of emission or other harmful gases (e.g.
carbon monoxide)
Air pollution can also be in the form of disturbances which could potentially harm
living things!
For example: the over emission of gases, such as carbon dioxide, which if kept in
our human bodies for too long may harm us!
The most common air pollution is coming from burning fossils fuels and other
material like oils!
Most of which include:

Oil refiners
Power plants
Factories
Automobiles(cars)
And other types of transformations we use and disperse of in our day-today lives!
The main types of pollution gases in the air are:
Carbon dioxide
Carbon monoxide
Methane
Sulphur dioxide
Chlorofluorocarbons!
These which cause air pollutions!

Water

Water pollution is another one of the

environment!

pollution:

main types of pollutions in the

Water pollution is in the form of any change in the

and biological properties of water which harms living

They take place in various locations such as:

physical, chemical
things!

Ponds
Lakes
Rivers
Seas
Oceans
What causes water pollution?
One of the many causes of water pollution is the release of toxic waste
into the water,
For example, domestic wastes, industrial effluents, agricultural wastes,
marine dumping and radioactive waste!
There are more like, oil spills and atmospheric deposition (where
pollutants enter water BODIES through falling particles, dissolving in rain
and snow, or directly dissolving into the water!
The main cause of water pollution make the water unfit for us to drink and
other uses!
Polluted water also spreads viruses, bacteria, intestinal parasites and
other harmful microorganisms, which lead to waterborne diseases like
diarrhoea, dysentery and typhoid!

Land pollution:

Land pollution is also another main type of pollution to the environment.

Land pollution is mainly about the contamination and the degradation of earths
land surfaces!

Why does land pollution occur?

Land pollution occurs when various sources domestic waste, industrial waste
etc. are not properly disposed of, causing harmful damage and which cause
chemicals to evaporate into the ground and devastate the earth!

In the landfills, non-biodegradable materials like plastic bottles and etc. remain
cast away in the ground for years and years disposing chemicals into the
ground! Products that contain heavy metals leach poison(toxic) into the ground.
These chemicals and heavy metals sometimes reach our underground water
system which then lead to our water bodies.
Thats why its more important to recycle rather than throwing away useless
garbage which may harm the earths ground!
How to stop Land pollution?
Land pollution Can be prevented by the proper disposing of litter. What is even
better is reducing land pollution is to reduce trash.
How?
Re-using items we might use and throw away in our practical lives!

Real life examples!

Deforestation:
Unfortunately, we as humans depend on trees for many things including life.
We cut down trees for wood and paper but we never plant them back which is
causing land pollution.

We need trees for pure oxygen as well as our own desires. For example, animals
need trees as homes, we need them for oxygen and they are also being used by
tribes!

Chemicals:
Chemical and nuclear power plants produce waste materials that have to be
stored somewhere.
Fertilizer, insecticides, pesticides also produce lots of waste! In most cases, these
chemicals are in safe hands, but they can be lead out into the open air! They can
leark into gutters and pipes, they harm our body and our ecosystem!

Mining sources:
As we all know, mining was a big thing back in the old days and its effects are
still taking control of our lives! Mining includes piles and piles of coal refuse and
heaps of slag surfaces (clearcutting) and use skid trails often leave the land
destroyed. If the surface is exposed to erosion, then the quality of the land will
decrease. If coal is exposed to our body, we will suffer from various diseases!

Effects of Land pollution:

Causes problems in the human respiratory system

Causes problems to our skin
Causes various kinds of cancer

Toxic materials can get into our body by:

Coming into contact with the skin
Being washed into rivers
Eating fruits and vegetables which have been grown in polluted areas!
Breathing in polluted dust particles!

10 Most air polluted countries:

1. Ahwaz, Iran

2. Ulan Bator, Mongolia

3. Sanadaj, Iran
4. Ludhiana, India
5. Quetta, Pakistan
6. Kermanshah, Iran
7. Peshawar, Pakistan
8. Gaberone, Botswana
9. Yasouj, Iran
10. Kanpur, India

Most water-polluted oceans:

Well actually the Mediterranean Sea is the most polluted ocean in the world because it is
almost entirely surrounded by land. The sea is heavily trafficked and fished by the 19 nations
that rely on it for food and income.

Most Land polluted country/city/place:

Ahvaz, Iran
According to the World Health Organization Ahvaz, Iran is now the most polluted city in the
world, a problem that is only made worse by its constant dust storms.
