Día del Niños
The very first day of May
A disappointment about for men who were or desired an
began with the Día del Ninos.
This is a time that the country of
Mexico celebrates the gift of
children. The AIM team, along
with church members, decided
to partake in this event while at
the same time reaching out to
the community. We all met at a
park called Parque Explora and
set up under a gazebo near the
center of the park. We had
singing, freeze tag, a puppet
show talking about Noah’s ark,

which were devoured by the kids
and their families. This was a
great time for us to reach out to
the city of León, because often
times the best way to reach
parents is through their children.

special time with them the next
Sunday. They were all at church,
and afterwards we all headed to
the park for sandwiches and fun.
It was a great time to influence
young ones for Christ.
Men’s Retreat
the church that the guys from
my team and I were able to
participate in was the men’s
retreat for the church. We all got
together and headed downtown
to the Hotel Real Rex, where the
retreat was held. This was a time
active role in church leadership
here at León Sur. We had
classes from the four current
missionaries here, which
included Omar, Shawn, Ben,
and Bill. Each shared something
that they wished for the men of
the congregation to know. It was
an interesting place for me, as
an AIMer, to be. I know the AIM
team plays a crucial role in the
church, but we are ultimately
temporary. We will eventually
leave here and return home. But
it was a very good opportunity
for me to see how male
leadership is important in the
church today, and it gives me

to be a church leader and have
an active role in a church
somewhere.
New Arrivals
May has been the month
of new arrivals here in León,
principally that of the new AIM
team arriving here on the 25th.
Well, all but one, who got in
June 1st. This team includes
Princeton Palmer, Chris Reid,
Nick Flesher, Michelle
Marrachini, Dani Muñoz, Jeni
Bandanza, and Alyssa
Daughtery. This is seven new
additions in all to our already six,
thirteen in all. This makes quite a
group of foreigners walking
down the street when we are all
together. Another arrival that is
not so recent is Beto Rubio, the
son of a very active family here
in León. He has been studying in
the preaching school in Ecuador
for the past year and he is now
back home for two months, and
he will be able to participate with
us in some of our ministries.
Of course, with any new the last year, and it couldn’t
