IntheDaytona675R,wevemadeexceptionalthenewstandard.Thisisatruetrackdaytool.Focused.Committed.
Takingourexperiencegainedontrackandroadwiththeoutgoingbikeandcombiningthelatestdevelopmentsin
engineeringtechnologyandthinking,weregivingyouanevenfaster,betterhandling,easierridingbike.
Theresultisabikewhichis1kg(2.2lb)lighterthantheoldmodelwithanewtriplemotorthatdeliversevenmore
powerallthewaythroughto14,400rpmredline.Thenewframegeometry,masscentralisationandracederived
hlinssuspensionenablesrazorsharphandlingandconfidenceinspiringfeedback.AddBrembobrakes,a
quickshifter,carbontrimandsomesubtlestylingdetailsandyouknowyoureridingatruethoroughbred
motorcycle.

ENGINE
Construction
The2013Daytona675Rsengineisnowevenmorefocussed.Wevebuiltitwithanewshorterstrokeandwider
boredimensionsforevenmoreuseablepowerandacceleration.Thecylinderblockisnowcastseparatelyfromthe
uppercrankcasetocopewithhigherpressures,moretorqueandmorepower.
Inadditiontothe675,theRnowcomeswithaquickshiftgearchange,reprogrammedtogiveyouevenfaster,
smoothershifting.

Internals
WithtwininjectorspercylinderthenewDaytonacandrawmorefuelquickerwhenyouopenthethrottlefullyand
demandmorefromtheengine.
AfirstforaproductionTriumph,wehavenowfittedsubstantiallylightertitaniumvalvestocopebetterwiththe
higherrevs.Thisalsomeanslightervalvespringscanbeused,reducingvalvetrainwearandfriction.
Wealsoknewthattheweightreductionwasenoughtogiveusthespacetoaddsomemetaltothevalveswithout
compromisingthevalvetrain,sothetopofthevalve'mushroom'headswerereshapedtoimprovegasflowaround
thevalveandintothecombustionchamber.Thismeansbetterefficiencyandaboostintorqueatlowandmedium
revs.

Sound
Weenlargedthethroughairflowheadstocksothattheintakemouthispositionedinthehighestpressurezone
centrallyatthefrontofthebike.Improvingflowefficiency,sothatairpassesinastraightlinethroughthecentreof
theheadstocktotheairbox.
Andwhentheairpassesthroughthecentreofthecockpitzone,itgivesyouevenmoreofthatdistinctivethree
cylinderintakesnarl.Andit'snotjustthevolumeofthesoundthatsbetter,it'snowthereoveramuchwider
rangeofrevsforanevenmorefocussed,involvingridethaneverbefore.

Performance
Theoverallthemeforthisbikeismoretorque,betteraccelerationandmoreuseablepower.
Oneofthemaincontributorstothisistheimprovedboreandstroke.WebuiltthelatestDaytona675Rwitha
shorterstrokeallowingustoseta500rpmhigherrevceilingat14,500andweincreasedpowerto128PSand
maximumtorqueto75Nm.Sothenewenginenowgivesyouhigherpowerforlonger.Wringingevenmore
performanceoutofthebikeaswellbringingmoreoftherideroutofyou.

Wesharpenedthegeometrywithachangeintherakefrom23.9to22.9andareductionintrailfrom89.1mmto
87.2mm.Andnow,theswingarmpivotpositionisadjustablesoyoucantailorthehandlingmorepreciselytoyour
ridingstyleandtheconditions.

Suspension
Wefittedthe675RwithhlinsNIX30forksforreducedfriction,finerdampingcontrolandawiderrangeof
adjustabilitycomparedwiththestandardequipment.
TherearshockisanhlinsTTX'twintube'unitthatdeliversmoreconsistentandpredictableperformanceonthe
trackandiseasilyadjustableforspringpreload,rideheightandreboundandcompressiondamping.

Swingarm
The2013Daytona'snewrigidaluminiumswingarmisdesignedasymmetricallytomakeroomfortheimproved
exhaustsystem.Youcannowevenadjustitspivotandpersonalisethebike'sgeometry,finetuningittosuityour
ridingstyleandconditions.

Brakes
Wefittedthe675RwiththelatestBremboMonoblocfrontbrakecallipersinplaceofthestandardbike'sNissinunits
astheyareespeciallyresistanttoheatfade.Beingmachinedfromsingleblocksofaluminiumratherthantwo
sectionsboltedtogether,youalsogetincreasedstrengthandreduceddistortionundertheextremepressuresof
heavybrakingasexperiencedintrackusewhichinturnimprovesfeelandfeedbacktoyou,therider.

WheelsandTyres
Shavingweightoffabikeshavesmillisecondsoffalaptime.Sowereducedthe675R'swheelweightbecause,with
theirgyroscopiceffect,weightlosthereislikeeighttimestheweightlostelsewhereonabike.Wefittednew
wheelswiththenewrearbeing0.5kglighterthantheoutgoingmodel.AndPirelliDragonSuperCorsatyresfor
optimumperformance.

SteeringDamper
TheDaytona675Risfittedwithnew,stateoftheartKYBcentrefixedcartridgeforksthatuseaninternaldamping
cartridgewhichisrigidlylocatedatbothends,ratherthanfloatingatoneendasinconventionaldesigns.Because
it'ssupportedbythinnerwalls,ithasmoreroomforthedampingpiston,soalargerdiameteronecanbeused,
improvingdampingaccuracy.

RidingPosition
Wehaveimprovedthe675Rsridingpositionbyraisingthebarsslightlybutwitha10mmreductioninseatheight.
Everybitafocussedsupersportridingstance,designedtogetthebestoutofyouintrackconditions.
