My dear students;
Ladies and Gentlemen.
A very Good and warm morning to everyone assembled here with great joy and
immense exultation.
I feel privileged to extend my warm welcome to all present here for Todays Guest
Lecturer on CYBER AND ECONOMIC SECURITY: THE ROLE AND
RESPONSIBILITIES OF POLICE.
Today, more than two billion people around the world are online. That's two billion
people who are relying on the Internet to be a trusted place to get and share
information. Some subset of those two billion are using the Internet to buy real or
digital goods, collaborate with business partners, handle the tasks of everyday life,
like paying their bills and sharing their thoughts by social network, like facebook,
Whatsapp, Twitter etc.
Yet many people still worry about the security of their online transactions and
whether their privacy is being protected. The endless stream of news stories about
cyber attacks contributes to these concerns.
Every people, organization and government need to know how much is necessary
to invest in cyber security and how much is enough.
We are honored to have with us two eminent speaker Mr Vishal Mane & Mr Pradip
Lande.

Cybercrime is considered one the most dangerous threats for the development of
any state; it has a serious impact on every aspect of the growth of a country.
Government entities, non-profit organizations, private companies and citizens are
all potential targets of the cyber criminal syndicate. It is widely acknowledged that
cyber attacks will increasingly be a key aspect of future warfare and organized
crime.
I would now take the opportunity to invite Mr. Vishal Mane and Mr. Pradip Lande to
share their views on Cyber & Economic Security and the role of Police Department
in Cyber Security with the audience.

you have inaugurated the Commerce Association activities for this academicyear.
Sir, when we made a request to you to inaugurate this Session, we were notaware
that you are also an Executive Director and Counsellor of Many Organisations inand
around Trichy. On behalf of the Commerce Association I extend my gratitude to
yousir.

I take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to Our Principal Prof K. M.
Purohit, the dynamic and flexible person in all academic matters for gracing this
occasion. His presence today in this function has immensely enhanced its
importance.

Cyber attacks include the unintentional or unauthorized access, use, manipulation,


interruption or destruction (via electronic means) of electronic information and/or
the electronic and physical infrastructure used to process, communicate and/or
store that information. The severity of the cyber attack determines the appropriate
level of response and/or mitigation measures: i.e., cyber security.
