Abstract

EricssonshowsanetworksetuptoMediaAnalystsenablingademonstrationoftheEricssonMobileEnd­to­EndTransportNetwork

solution,includingRAN,Microwave,OpticalandEthernettransportandMobileCore.Thedemonstrationnetworkiscomposedof

threeEricssonnetworksolutions:

TestCaseGroup'EnduserQualityofExperience'(QoE)showsthattheenduser'sQualityofExperienceisnot

severelyaffectedwhentheMBHandMPBNsolutionsareconfrontedwithmajordisturbancessuchasoverload,

linkandnodefailures.ThetestsinvolvetechnologieslikeRingProtectionandqueuingaswellasVRRP,OSPF,

BGPandLDPprotocols.OneaspectoftheQoEdemonstrationisthatthenetworkhandlesthequalityofservice

andbandwidthrequirementsofthedifferentusecasesinthebestpossiblewaywhentheunderlyingtransmission

networkperformswithdegradedcharacteristics(packetloss,latencyandjitter).

Thepurposeofthe“Baseline”setupistwofold.Foronceitisusedtocreateadditionalartificialnetworkloadinthe

networkontopofthetrafficcreatedbytheend­to­enduserapplications.Thesecondreasonistoperformexact

outagecalculationsduringresiliencetests.Forthatpurpose,bidirectionaltrafficstreamsareinjectedintothe

network:

· The"Background"streamstocaterforbackgroundload,

· The"Measurement"streams,withafixedrateofframespersecondof1000pps,allowingforsimpleoutage

calculations.

The"end­to­end"trafficpathofthistrafficisshowninFigure3.Themarkingofthe“Background”trafficequalsthe

HighLoadProfile

The"HighLoad"setupisusedforselectedQualityofServiceandloadtestsinadditiontothe"Baseline"setup. Thestreamsdefinedinthatsetupcanbeusedtoputadditionaltrafficonselectedhopsofthenetworkinorderto

causehighloadconditionsonselectedlinks/interfaces.SeealsoFigure3.ThetrafficgeneratedbytheIxN2Xtool

isdirectedtothedesiredhopviatheusageofdoubleVLANtagging.TheX450a­036switchdeterminesits
