As we look around we can see that everything in life has a cost, from the smallest
to the biggest thing. We live in a society that has places a price everything. Even
when its free it has a value, that thing which is free to us, was paid for by someone
else. Which simply means we didnt have to pay for it.

Today I want us for a few minutes to look at:

WHAT DOES LOVE Cost?
Matthew 27:26- 46
26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he
delivered him to be crucified. 27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into
the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. 28 And they
stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. 29 And when they had platted a crown
of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed
the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! 30 And
they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. 31 And after that
they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on
him, and led him away to crucify him. 32 And as they came out, they found a man
of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross. 33 And when
they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull, 34
They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof,
he would not drink. 35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting
lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my
garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. 36 And sitting down
they watched him there; 37 And set up over his head his accusation written, this Is
Jesus the King of the Jews. 38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one

on the right hand, and another on the left. 39 And they that passed by reviled him,
wagging their heads, 40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest
it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,
42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now
come down from the cross, and we will believe him. 43 He trusted in God; let him
deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God. 44 The
thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth. 45 Now
from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. 46
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama
sabachthani? That is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
God gave His Son to a life of humiliation, self-denial, poverty, toil, reproach,
and to the agonizing death of crucifixion. But there was no angel to bear the joyful
message: "It is enough; You need not die, My well-beloved Son." Legions of
angels were sorrowfully waiting, hoping that, as in the case of Isaac, God would at
the last moment prevent His shameful death. But angels were not permitted to bear
any such message to God's dear Son. The humiliation in the judgment hall and on
the way to Calvary went on. He was mocked, derided, and spit upon. He endured
the jeers, taunts, and reviling of those who hated Him, until upon the cross He
bowed His head and died. {3T 369.2}
Could God give us any greater proof of His love than in thus giving His Son
to pass through this scene of suffering? And the gift of God to man was a free gift,
His love infinite, so His claims upon our confidence, our obedience, our whole
heart, and the wealth of our affections are correspondingly infinite. He requires all
that it is possible for man to give. The submission on our part must be

proportionate to the gift of God; it must be complete and wanting in nothing. We

are all debtors to God. He has claims upon us that we cannot meet without
giving ourselves a full and willing sacrifice. He claims prompt and willing
obedience, and nothing short of this will He accept.
Which one of us here today have sacrificed as much as our Jesus?
Which one have ever been whipped mercilessly, having our very flesh teared
from our body? 26
Which one of us here have had a crown of thorns penetrating the tenderness
of our head?
Which one of us have ever been ridicule, mocked and scorned by an entire
nation? 29
Which one of us have been spat upon and beaten in the head? 30
John 3:16 tells us, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
It was because of Christ SACRIFICE THAT WE ARE REDDEMED
John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his
friends.
God have done it all what have you done for him?
It is evident from Christs example that ..Love

Requires Sacrifice.

The verb Sacrifice means: giving up (something valued) for the sake of other
consideration. The word Sacrifice is synonymous with the words, Forfeit,
Relinquish, Renounce and Surrender. Interestingly all of these words means
to give up.

So . The question is, do we really love God? Are we giving up

everything for him?
When we are in love with someone . We are willing to give up anything for
them.
Philippians 4: 6 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal
with God: 7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a
servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8And being found in fashion as a
man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the
cross.
Christ led by example he gave us everything for us.
I always hear people saying Fair Exchange Is No Robbery. For this to work both
parties must be in agreeance concerning what they are trading for. As it relates
to Christ the exchange was unfair on our part. The hundred dollar illustration
Form the illustration we see that it isnt a fair deal, But our lord still makes the
deal anyway. That why the prophetess says we are all debtors to God.
If we love god we will keep his commandments John 14:15, we
wont do anything make him angry or sad, naturally because of
our love for him we would want to make him happy.

Galatians 5:19 -25 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest,
which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance,
emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings,
murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell
you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which
do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the
fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness,
goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is
no law. 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with
the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk
in the Spirit.
Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life
and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed
may live:
Wont you choose life?
Wont you give him your all today?
There is no sitting on the fence when it comes to god?
