Thirty percent (30%) of these patients do not wear the lower denture at all. Aires:
In my experience most people I see in our practice are good candidates for dental implants.
Age is not a factor. These teeth are permanently attached, there is no movement of the teeth as they
are rigidly attached to your dental implants. We believe this is a short cut that can lead to potential
overloading of the dental implants that can result in the failure of the restoration.
For our full arch restorations we use a board certified anesthesiologist who sedates our patients who
are asleep for the duration of the surgical procedure.
We also have a hospital grade operating room with full back-up capabilities for your safety.
We offer our full arch patients a Lifetime Guarantee for labor and materials on each of the full
arches that we fabricate and place.
Our fees are very comparable and sometimes less than other specialists and general dentists despite
offering our patients each of the PermaDontics Differences as noted.
Experience the difference in Dental Implant Dentistry... We are able to prevent any movement of the
dental implants by joining them together immediately with a set of teeth designed in the shape of an
arch.
The mechanical strength of the arch stabilizes the dental implants during the healing stages. In a
very small percentage of patients, bone grafting is needed prior to the implant insertion.
Dr Joel Berger, the Oral Surgeon here at the PermaDontics is known for his vast experience,
expertise and innovative techniques to grow bone when necessary. In terms of maintenance, we
recommend you have these teeth cleaned at least twice a year as you would your own teeth.
A second option we offer involves inserting 3 dental implants to support an over-denture.
An over-denture is essentially a denture that snaps onto the implants. The tooth is either cemented
or screwed onto the implant to act as a permanent tooth. We at the PermaDontics Center here in
San Diego use attachments called "Locators" that connect the denture to the implants. Dentures do
not have the same biting force as regular teeth. By 1985 we were inserting and restoring these
implants here in San Diego.
At the PermaDontics Center we work as a team. This very precise and detailed planning in advance
insures a more efficient and quicker surgery time. A Prosthodontist has the most training that
relates to the understanding and reconstruction of the bite (occlusion). In order to accomplish this,
the patients will usually require sinus lifting and bone grafts to allow us to insert at least 8 implants
in the upper jaw and 8 in the lower jaw.
In the lower jaw it may be necessary to reposition the nerve to allow us to insert enough dental
implants in the back part of the lower mouth. It also involves more complex surgical procedures for
the sinus lifting and bone grafting as well as the nerve repositioning.
We recommend this treatment for younger patients between the ages of 25 and 45 who come to us
with more bone available for the insertion of at least 8 dental implants.
Missing teeth can also be replaced with dentures only without the use of dental implants.
We do not recommend this option as patients find it difficult to eat and function with dentures. An
additional thirty percent (30%) have been shown to wear the denture only for chewing.
Whichever option you choose, make sure you are fully informed and choose what works best for you
and your lifestyle.
If you're missing teeth or have problem with your dentures please call PermaDontics for more
information and to arrange for your complimentary consultation. In fact, we customize carlsbad

you won't find anywhere else in San Diego.

information and to arrange for your complimentary consultation. Therefore, the experience of the
attending practitioners or doctors should be paramount in the mind of anyone considering having
dental implants placed.
We have, through the development of PermaDontics, built an Implant Center exclusively designed to
insert and to restore dental implants. I've seen patients as young as 17 and as old as 94 that have
successfully received implant surgery at our PermaDontics Center.
There are a few patients that do have certain health considerations when planning for implant
surgery.
If you have a severe debilitating disease or have uncontrolled diabetes, you will require medical
treatment first before an implant can be inserted. This video will also address which dentist should
perform the restoration process utilizing dental implants.
At PermaDontics, both Dr. Dentures can float around in the mouth and this movement can cause
gum irritation and pain. Learning this information will assist you in making a more informed decision
as to what treatment plan would be most suitable for your specific dental problem. Aires and Dr.
Each patient has different dental issues and we have several treatment options to them.
If a patient has several missing teeth or may soon be losing many teeth the best option is to replace
the missing teeth with a permanent bridge attached to several dental implants.
A fixed set of teeth is attached to 5 or 6 dental implants. A Prosthodontist also has additional
training in the aesthetics of the face and the mouth. You'll be glad you did..

Denatl Implant Dentistry: Why PermaDontics Center?
Dr. All you will see will be the tooth and a great smile.
We have found that in our many years of practice that our patients who come in with missing teeth,
problem teeth or issues with their dentures have, after implant surgery, left here the same day with
a smile on their faces surprised by how easy and remarkable the whole process is.
If you're missing teeth or have problem with your dentures please call PermaDontics for more
information and to arrange for your complimentary consultation. Dr Berger, the Oral Surgeon
inserts the implants and I, the Prosthodontist, restore the dental implants with permanent teeth.
They have also published their studies on "Same Day Teeth" in dental journals such as the
"California Dental Journal" and in the "International Journal of Implant Dentistry."
Dr. Our success rate using at least 5 implants are extremely high. Inserting a dental implant
requires a surgical procedure. These teeth need very little maintenance as they do not move. He
been teaching and educating other fellow dentists in how to restore dental implants since 1985.
Dr Aires and Berger have worked together for over 27 yearsin San Diego. These patients feel whole
again after losing their teeth.
This option comes with a Lifetime Guarantee and is highly recommended by us at the PermaDontics
Center. This feels and functions like your own teeth. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Implant Dentistry: Treatment options and Choices
Dr. The screw does not replace teeth, it replaces the root of the tooth. Aires:
I think that it's important to first understand that Dental Implantology is not a recognized Dental
specialty. Those patients who are on blood thinners will be required to stop the medication for one
implants immediately and on the same day, attach a set of teeth that are permanently anchored to
the dental implants.
Dr Berger, during the pre-treatment planning stage, does the insertion of the implants on the 3D
model of the patient's mouth. You'll be glad you did.

Implant Dentistry: Am I a Candidate?
Dr. The recognized specialties in Dentistry are the following:
A Orthodontist specializes in the prevention and correction of irregular teeth.
A Endodontist specializes in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of the dental pulp, usually by
removal of the nerve and other tissues of the pulp cavity and its replacement with suitable filling
material called root canal therapy.
A Periodontist is a specialist who deals with the study and treatment of diseases of the periodontium
or the gums.
A Oral surgeon is a specialist who deals with the surgical treatment or repair of various conditions of
the mouth or the jaws and surgical treatment of any problematic or pathologic conditions of the
mouth or the jaw.
A Prosthodontist specializes in the restoration of missing and broken teeth.
A Oral Pathologist is a specialist in the diagnosis of diseases of the mouth.
And a Paedodontist specializes in the care of children's teeth.
It's important to understand that because Implant dentistry is not a recognized specialty, any one of
these specialists and or general dentists are legally allowed to insert and to restore dental implants.
The new teeth are also constructed during the pre-treatment planning phase.
On the day of the actual surgery any teeth that need to be removed are extracted, the dental
implants are then inserted using the surgical guide and immediately on the same day the teeth are
permanently attached to the implants.
We do recommend that our patients eat a relatively soft diet for the first 6 weeks to allow the initial
bone healing to take place.
Dr Berger and I have published our studies on immediate loading showing a very high success rate
of 98.4%. These over-dentures are more stable than regular dentures but some minor movement
does occur during function.
Therefore, it's possible for food particles to get lodged under the dentures causing gum irritation
and pain. When a dental implant restoration is constructed properly, neither the patient nor anyone
else should be able to tell that the tooth is supported by an implant. It helps to assure greater
At no time is it necessary for the patients to go without teeth or even to wear a denture. Simply
stated, it is the fusing of bone to the implant. Berger and I utilize the 3D scanner and can usually
find sufficient bone to insert the implants.
For patients who have just a few teeth left or no teeth at all, we construct a pre-treatment plan
utilizing a 3D stereolithic model fabricated from their jaws. The success rate of our dental implants
has been extremely high. Aires:
At the PermaDontics Center in San Diego we have in house a very experienced Oral Surgeon and
Prosthodontist who have been working together for over 28 years inserting and restoring implants.
Both the Oral Surgeon and the Prosthodontist have lectured and trained dentists nationally and
internationally since 1985. We are then better able to position the implants in the available bone.
Implants are placed at an angle that maximizes the amount of bone that will surround the implant.
Aires:
Oftentimes when I first meet a patient who comes into our offices at The Permadontics Center, they
don't know what a dental implants is.
This talk is to help answer the basic questions I'm asked about the development of dental implants
and how they have now become a permanent solution in the replacement of missing or broken teeth.
A dental implant is a precision-made metal screw that is inserted into the jaw bone.

As leading dental professionals, Dr. Our in house Master Dental Laboratory technician then
fabricates a surgical guide on the 3D model. We also believe an Oral Surgeon has the best
understanding of the anatomical structures of the face and the mouth.
Restoring dental implants requires an in depth understanding of the bite (occlusion) especially when
many teeth are being replaced. After wearing this provisional set of teeth, a definitive final set of
teeth is fabricated to fit the new implants and the gum tissue. Berger want to provide the public with
an in-depth understanding of dental implants. We, therefore, are able to eliminate bone grafts in
most cases
