This could be at school or in an extracurricular activity

Who?

A small group of students who are dedicated to creating a positive and


welcoming atmosphere for prospective and new students.

Goal:
To Provide a welcoming and friendly face to new students prior to
enrolling at Your School, on their first day, and during the rest of the
school year.

What does a student ambassador do?


You will be paired up with one new student prior to their first day based on your gender, lunch Period,
homeroom, grade level, etc.
Typical responsibilities
Meet students on the morning of their first day
Show students where their homeroom and locker are located.
Introduce new students to their homeroom teacher.
Get their locker combination from the teacher.
Show new students how to unlock a lock if they have never used a locker before.
Meet the student outside of their classroom prior to lunch and invite them to sit with you.

What does a student ambassador do?

Give the new student a tour

What time does school start? When is the end of the day?
How long are classes?
Who is the school Principal, School Counselor & College Advisor?
Student Services
Nurses office
Nutrition room
Art room
Gym
Cafeteria

Auditorium
Library.
LGI.
Where are restrooms? Stairwells? Water fountains?
Middle school hallway.
Walk students through their schedule, if time permits.
OR
explain the general location of each of the students
classes rather than walking them through the entire
schedule.

What does a student Ambassador do?
