payableonthesaleofenergyandraisetheDebit.
(b)InspectionofaccountsofallLicenseesandsanctionholdersinthestateandassesstheElectricityDutypayableandraise
theDebit.
(c)TherateofElectricityDutyis6paiseperunitofsaleandconsumptionofenergy.
(d)TheElectricityDutyisexemptedwhenthegenerationisforcaptiveconsumptionbutdutyisleviableonentireconsumption
salewhenthereisthirdpartysale.

(c)OverseetheproperimplementationofLicensingRegulationsthroughoutthestate.
5.HOUSEHOLDELECTRICALAPPLIANCES(QUALITYCONTROL)ORDER,1981,1988and1993.
(a)FortheimplementationoftheHouseHoldElectricalAppliances(QualityControl)order,1981,1988,1989and1993,the
ChiefElectricalInspectortoGovernmentisappropriateAuthorityandthePrincipalSecretary,EnergyDepartmentistheAppellate
Authority.TheseordersareissuedundertheprovisionofSection3ofEssentialCommoditiesAct,1955.
(b)Themainobjectsoftheorderistopreventmanufacture,distributionandsaleofsubstandardDomesticelectricalappliances
in the interest of public safety. Under the provisions of this order it is an offence to manufacture, distribute, store or sell any
substandardappliancewhichisnotinconformitywiththespecifiedstandardwithaviewtostrictlyimplementtheseordersthe
Appropriate Authority i.e. the Chief Electrical Inspector to Government has authorised all Deputy Electrical Inspectors of the
organisationtosearchalltheelectricalshopssellingofHHEAandseizeanyunaithorisedandsubstandardgoods/appliances
andinitiateactionaspertheprovisionsofessentialcommoditiesAct.
6.THESTANDARDSLABORATORYOFTHEELECTRICALINSPECTORATEHASTHEFACILITIESTOTESTTHE
