Type of Tube
1.2 Details of the grades of tube and materials dealt with under each type
are given in subsequent clauses.
1.3 All steel tubes covered by this standard shall comply with the requirements laid down in Section 1, and in addition, with the requirements under
each appropriate Section.

2. SUPPLY
I GENERAL

3. MATERIAL
3.1 The steel for tubes shall be manufactured by open-hearth, electric,
duplex, or one of the basic oxygen processes or a combination of these
processes. In case, any other process is employed in the manufacture, prior
approval of the purchaser shall be obtained.

3.2 Steel shall be supplied

6.5 Re-test - Should anyone of the test pieces first selected fail to pass any
of the tests specified, two further samples shall be selected for testing in
respect of each failure. In case the test pieces from both of these additional
samples pass, the materials,shall
be deemed to comply with the requirements of that particular
test.
Should the test pieces from either of these

samples fail, the material represented by the test samples shall be
liable to rejection.

16. CONDITION
16.1 Tubes shall be supplied as welded with the external fin removed.
The
internal fin may be removed where practicable and this shall be the subject
of agreement between the purchaser and the manufacturer.

20. GENERAL
20.1 This section of the standard covers two grades of electric resistance
butt-welded and subsequently
cold drawn steel tubes designated as CEW-1,
and CEW-2.
20.2 The tubes shall comply in all respects with the requirements
specified
in Sections 1 and 4, and shall be subjected to both chemical analysis and
mechanical
tests, unless it is stated in the enquiry or order that only the
chemical analysis or the mechanical tests are required.
