REGULATION ORDINANCE NO. 2013-478

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING PEDESTRIAN LANES IN FERMIN
CARAM AVENUE (IZNART STREEn PARTICULARLY ALONG
ILOJLO CENTRAL COMMERCIAL HIGH SCHOOL ACROSS 168
PLAZA AND MERCURY DRUG STORE ACROSS DUNKIN DONUT.
Sponsored by Councilor Plaridel C. Nava II and seconded by Councilors Lady
Julie Grace L. Baronda, Liezl Joy Zulueta-Salazar and Carlos P. Guarin

WHEREAS, there is a need to open pedestrian lanes along Fermin Caram Avenue (Iznart
Street) that would ease pedestrian crossing and vehicular traffic in the area which caters a number of
business establishments and educational institutions;
WHEREAS, the opening of pedestrian lanes in the area would increase business activity,
accessibility and would revive the life of Calle Real;
WHEREAS, the new pedestrian lanes will be equipped with traffic signs and pedestrian lights
to be sponsored by Golden Luck Development Corporation in line with the public-private
partnership program of the government;
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City oflloilo, that:

Section l. - Pedestrian lanes are hereby established along Fermin Caram Avenue (Iznart
Street) particularly between Iloilo Central Commercial High School and 168 Plaza and between
Mercury Drug Store and Dunkin Donut.
Section 2. - The existing pedestrian lane before the intersection of Arroyo Street fronting
Jolibee shall be condemned and closed to pedestrians.
Section 3. - The Golden Luck Development Corporation is hereby authorized to introduce
improvements and install traffic lights and signs in the specified area subject to the Proposed Master
Plan and Site Development Plan submitted to and approved by the Office of the City Mayor and
incorporated in this ordinance at its own expense and with no cost to the City Government.
Section 4. - The City Engineer's Office is hereby mandated to oversee and supervise the
construction and engineering works undertaken by Golden Luck Development Corporation subject
to the prescribed rules and regulations.
Section 5. - The City Mayor has the authority to suspend the construction works when public
safety and convenience so demand.
Section 6. - All existing Ordinances., Executive Orders, Regulations or parts thereof in
conflict with any of the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed, amended and revised.
Section 7. - If any provision of this Ordinance is held invalid by a competent court, the
remained provision shall not be affected thereby.
Section 8. - This Ordinance shall take effect immediately.
