2. PREAMBLE
4.2 Electronical characteristics
This leaflet is meant for qualified personnel in charge
of operating and running this equipment.
Operating and running must be done according to
appropriate general rules.
A non appropriate or a defective use may lead to an
irreversible failure of different components of the
equipment.
If any failure occurs, the user must check that the
device is safe for its environment

CAUTION: DO NOT INTERVENE ON THE

EQUIPMENT WHEN IT IS SWITCHED ON.
CAUTION: CONNECTIONS AND
DISCONNECTIONS MUST ALWAYS BE MADE
WHEN EQUIPMENT IS SWITCHED OFF AND OUT
OF WATER

3. PRESENTATION
The compass 1000m is a high precision electronic
compass, suitable for use at a depth of 1000m.
It is intended to be used with a ROV vehicle for
example.

No special maintenance is needed for the 1000 m

compass. The maintenance of the equipment is
limited to the replacement of the O-ring # 52.
Proceed as follows :

Hold firmly the compass housing # 10

Unscrew the cap # 11 using a pin wrench 4
Replace the worn Oring # 52
Grease the new Oring with silicone grease
Screw the cap # 11 on the housing # 10 again:
tighten firmly using a pin wrench.
