This must be a deliberate activity since other visible minorities and People of Colour do not share the same treatment. Take this series of Tweets I made on Twitter about a story you published by Jeffrey Jones. The proof of my claim is right in your paper from the very same day. https://storify.com/kimweaver/the-globe-and-mail-establishes-their-white-provole Yesterday you published a story co-authored by Dr. Cindy Blackstock and Stephen Toope. Throughout the article the word Indigenous in the usage of describing the collective of Original Peoples was given a small i. I find it hard to believe that Dr. Blackstock would condone this usage. I am sure it was an editorial decision in keeping with the Globes anti-Indigenous stance. I have asked Dr. Blackstock the question but have not heard back at this time. Surprising to me you opened comments. I am not sure what the purpose would be to do this except to promote clicks on your site at the expense of the dignity of the Original Peoples. I have monitored the comments and added them to my research database. The only Indigenous person making posts was me. There was no moderation of the story. This was probably a Globe editorial decision to promoted healthy dialogue. I have captured this healthy dialogue for your perusal. The majority of comments are blatantly racist. You like most white men do not understand racism and racist ideology as it relates to Indigenous Peoples. Why? Because you are white and privileged. And, because mainstream media including your paper normalize anti-Indigenous racism and perpetuate the systemic institutional racism that is the backbone of Canadian identity. I invite you to go through these screen captures so you can begin to understand your personal complicity in perpetuating the identical racism used by John A. MacDonald and Duncan Randall Scott to create the Indian Residential Schools. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/the-promise-of-reconciliation-indigenousknowledge-waiting-in-the-wings/article32066220/comments/ :nen ki' whi Thohahente Kim Weaver Turtle Clan
