Managemen Control Systems

This paper used aproach managemen control system that developed by Robert Simons.
Unpredictable and uncertainly conditions are the main problems to use traditional MCS that
facing similar problem. Therefore in this paper the writter using MCS present that developed by
Robert Simons. The main different between traditional MCS and MCS Present is on the ability
the management control can be aplicable on the unpredictable conditions that happend on the life
cycle of firm specially in step growing firm.
The writter given the key place in the MCS literature to the two possible uses of
controling and enabling, given the large number of MCS present at any one time, of their being
some kind of baance between those two major categories of enabling systems and controling
systems. MCS literature that use by the wrtter is to clearly, in some situatuons controlling
systems will be more relevant and in orther situatuions enabling systems are more appropriate.
The writter take those two conflicting possible uses of MCS imply that there is a
dynamic tension between the two and thereforer consistency between them is important. To
more focused literature review the writter used one model or specific MCS. Frame work
Simons levers of control that used in this paper that differentiates into four LoC there are :
Beliefs and values, boundary systems, diagnostic systems and interactive systems.
The MCS literature offers the perspective that these MCS can be viewed as controlling or
enabling systems. The original proposition was that it could be ecpected that an organization
commited to business excellence that operates in an uncertain environtment would adobt a blend
of formal and informal, interactive MCS.
The writter just used the Loc that develope by Robert Simons. The focused on this paper
to know how managers can be hold their firm in the uncertaine condition that based on MCS
presents Robert Simons. Theres no other literature that used in this paper.
