to the NAHL in 2013.
Wildfong understands whats
ahead for Shreveport and its fans.
Im excited for the people who
didnt have hockey. I know theyve
missed it, Wildfong said. The
Mudbugs are off to a great start
with recruiting. Zirny has built a
great team. In the NAHL, there are
more mistakes than in the pros, but
the action is end-to-end and a lot
more exciting.
Wildfong is excited to see the
Hirschs $2 million transformation. The last time he played in the
building, he lifted the Presidents
Cup following a 2000 championship. The Mudbugs (2-2) began the
2016-17 regular season with four
games at the NAHL Showcase in
Blaine, Minnesota, last week. The
Brahmas (4-0-1) lead the South Division.
(Thursday) is going to be amazing, Mudbugs forward Kieran
Durgan said. You heard the buzz
even before preseason. Were all
looking forward to it.
One of the standouts in Blaine
was Shreveport netminder John

Roberts. The 17-year-old Lansdale,

Pennsylvania, product ranks in the
Top 10 in the NAHL with a 1.52
goals-against average and a .955
save percentage.
Geuorgui Feduolov led the Mudbugs with six points (1G, 5A) while
Frankie Melton and Eriks Zohovs
both collected three goals in the
first four games.
Mudbugs owner Tommy Scott
believes the listed capacity (3,434)
of Georges Pond could be tested
during the first two home games.
Those two preseason games
here, we had over 1,000 people, so
