Role Synopsis

Proserv are creating a new LLP company based in Chennai, India to act as a remote engineering
division in support of all engineering aspects of PES (Production Equipment & Services) of the MEA
and Far East and Asia (FEA) regions. This will be in full alignment with global standardization
programs and also develop and implement local standardization in terms of application, value and
design engineering. This role will manage the implementation of the new Engineering centre in
Chennai, India and then the day to day aspects of running a technical office in Chennai. Supported
by Group and regional standards and personnel, the role will also manage the learning &
development and competency mapping for all the engineers based there.
Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following)
Day to day management of the Chennai office and its employees
Provide support in defining the full technical requirements for any project and then ensure all
the detailed engineering outputs are in compliance with the client specification & all applicable
standards.
Full alignment and key stakeholder to Proserv global engineering best practices, standards
and systems
Provide engineering support, drawings, specifications, data books etc., to allow consistent
and seamless production to take place in multiple offsite locations
Full alignment as part of the global engineering team to develop and ensure the correct and
standardized usage of the global PDM and AX system for all aspect of engineering as
applicable.
Implement Proserv Technical Career Development program for ALL engineers in India
working with the L&D function and the MEA People champion.
Drive standardisation in the product families and advance to configurable product structures
Support the development of modularization packages for the controls and injection aspects of
PES and also provides the growth potential for process / monitoring systems (metering, gas
skid modules etc.,) for all regions.

Interface and share information with global technical advisors to ensure consistency with
business direction and implementation of best global practices in design, layout and
functionality
Implement Proserv Engineering Graduate Program and intake to provide an organic pipeline
of Proserv PES engineers that could be mobilized to support any other Proserv region.
Support all technical aspects of PES proposal work for all Proserv regions and as applicable
support live PES projects with back office engineering support for MEA/FEA (and the other
regions, as applicable).
Support any new PES development programs based on technology. Identifies implications of
changes in industry standards and implements recommendations
Support Operational excellence Engineering projects across MEA & FEA for PES work.
Support the LEAN program across all MEA and FEA bases emphasis on engineering arena.
Always lead and be seen to lead in all matters related to FRESH
Always lead and be seen to lead in all matters related to the HSE

Key Performance Indicators

Deemed as competent (by Group Engineering) to lead engineering standardization for PES
on ePDM / Solid works / AX etc.,
Compliance with global local legislation/accreditation
Proservs engineering centre in Chennai open and operational
New products launched into the MEA/FEA or global Proserv markets
Organic growth of Engineering Team via Career Building/Development internally

Qualifications
Education
Essential
Bachelors or Masters Degree in an Engineering discipline

Experience/Skills
Essential
Five years experience of management of an engineering/technical team
Five plus years experience of alignment with global standards - typically driven by US or EU
based global companies.
Thorough understanding and practical experience of the role of Engineering in product
lifecycle from tender support, design, production, installation and support
Practical experience in recruitment and employee appraisal and development / mentoring
specifically with engineering personnel. Also the ability to take disciplinary action as and
when required.
Cultural understanding of Southern India.
Working knowledge and familiarity with Lean, ISO and HSE. Track record of promoting and
sharing best practices and lessons learned across product line/domain
Network of contacts within the Oil and Gas Industry
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to make presentations regards Proserv to large or small groups - specifically with
clients and regional/global colleagues.
Ability to interface with professionals of all levels
Preferred
Proserv Product Line experience wellhead controls, chemical injection or metering.
Lean/Axapta experience
Corporate report writing skills.
Engineering Supervision experience
