Introduction
Carl Gustav Jung is concerned as the father of analytics psychology that give the ideas about
theory of psychological type that impact directly to the individual trait. At his time, he just
only categorized the people traits into Introversion and Extroversion. However, in the year
1920, Katharine Cool Briggs based on the Jungs theory to introduce the world the personal
indicators system that we literately called Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI, 2006). From
that system, human can know their self-trait and find out the matching behaviors, or career.
There are four main pairs of the personality traits. They are Introversion (I) or Extraversion
(E), intuition (N) or sensing(S), thinking (T) or Feeling (F), judging (J) or perceiving (P).
Personality traits vs workplace conflicts
By practice the multiple choice test, the author of the essay is follow the type INFJ.
Personally, the human belong to that group is systematic their life, and concern about others
life. They can easy to understand the people, and adapt with the changes of the surrounding
environment. In another words, they are more focus on feeling, and touch their worlds based
on their heart, and sense. Because of the care with others, INFJers quite pay attention to the
relationship. They will try many ways to build up, and keep the long term and meaningful
relationship for their important person. For example, with the authors life, she quite seeks to
the perfect in task, and human. Therefore, she often spent much of her time to communicate
to understand inside her employees to find out the barriers in them. Moreover, she has the
good communicate as a nature of INFJ trait type, so she quite passion for listening, and keep
the promise with anyone (MBTI, 2006).
Moreover, the author also be good in control her emotion, or easy to be calm down in much
of the negative situation. Therefore, she quite success in conflict dealing, or problem
handling. Also, with the characteristics that she always heads to the positive future,
innovative to find the ideas. She like the protectors that generate the energy, and the belief for
others. From that, in the workplace, the INFJers seem to be no conflict between colleagues.
Instead of that, she could also be a good leader in any tough situation.
Personality conflict

As the experience of the author, her traits assessment is INFJ. However, in the workplace,
there are some of her co-worker belong to the group ESTP. Much of them do not have a
passion to listen, or pay attention in any speech that lead to the less respect with her briefing
in each of the working shift. In addition, her co-workers have another opposite belief with her
which is he looking for something practical, and short term. Also, he is the person who is
shallow on the planning (MBTI, 2006). Therefore, the conflict sometimes will generate
between the meeting between two different type of traits.
For example, on the sales meeting time, the author making the plan for the hotel to be enter
the high end market in the next 10 years with the general strategy as the Deputy General
Manager of the five-star hotel. However, it seems to be unattractive her co-workers as the
Direct Sales Manager. He pursuit that the hotel is work well for the short term, and he
showed the current data about the success of hotel at the moment such as the high revenues,
huge profit, with target achieving. As the results, the sales meeting fails because two of the
leaders could not have a common goal.
Strategic solutions
As nature, INFJ have a advantages in controlling emotion. Therefore, instead of being aging,
we can take some humor on the meeting to release the stress, and make the meeting become
more active. Moreover, to reach the common goals, we also put the physical benefits in the
long term to be sure that we could get the attention from the ESTP. For example, we could
point out some of the estimated revenues, or our high market share to increase the efficient of
the meeting.
Conclusion
Aristotle stated that knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom. Therefore, if we do
not understand our self, we could not understand others. By knowing what we are will direct
us to what we do. From that, we will have the perfect life in living, and in working. That is a
reason why when the authors of the essay know herself is open, and kindness. She is willing
to spent more than 10 years to work in the hospitality industry with all her passion. As the
results, step by step, she now become another successful trainer that motivate the next
generation to work hard, and innovate in the industry as her dream.
