SPECIFICATION FOR QUOTATION

1. OBJECTIVE
This Technical Specification defines the requirements for the supply of a phosphating plant for tubular
accessories for TENARIS HYDRIL facilities in Batam, Indonesia.
As option, the erection and commissioning has to be offered.

2. SCOPE OF SUPPLY
The Supplier will provide a phosphating plant as described in this specification, complete with all mechanical
parts, structural parts, piping on board, electrical installation on board, instrumentation and electrical panel
boards.
The minimum requirements include:

Operation and maintenance manuals.

4. GENERAL SAFETY AND EVIROMENTAL REQUERIMENT


All equipment design criteria shall be subordinate to personnel safety, in accordance with updated OSHA
standards and Best Available Practice for environment protection, as indicated below.
Spill prevention
Secondary Containment for equipments with oil or hazardous material leakage risk: culverting, gutters or
other drainage systems. The drainage should be collected into intermediate storage tanks (in order to avoid
contamination of industrial water). The contained volume has to be 110% of the total volume.
Diffuse emission
Reduction of diffuse emissions when technically feasible through collection system.

5. GENERAL REQUERIMENTS
Machinery shall be designed and fabricated according attached Phosphating Installation Lay Out. Installation

All equipment in contact with chemical products shall be fabricated in stainless steel, AISI 304 type.
Operating temperature of phosphating bath shall be reached within four hours from ambient temperature.
Phosphate tanks
operation temperature: min 95C, max 98 C;
heating : No direct method have to be proposed
tank must be covered/isolated in order to reduce the heat loss and prevent uncontrolled exhaust.
Capacity 1200 l, Panel: SS 304 2 mm thk., Frame: Mild steel, Insulation: Glass wool 50 mm, lagging:

SPECIFICATION FOR QUOTATION

Camera for heat transfer fluid shall be fabricated all around phosphating tank, material AISI 304 type.
Long tubular accessories require tilting table to submerge the threaded accessory in the phosphating tank.
Clamping device shall be designed to fix the accessory to tilting table.
Electrical equipment shall be provided with all man machine interfaces (push button panels).
All machinery shall be delivery electric conduits on board made in galvanized rigid pipes and wired up to a
junction box
Paint: All structural carbon steel shall be painted. All surfaces shall be sandblasted and painted with one coat
of Epoxy Base Primer and one coat of Polyurethane Finishing, total dry thickness 175 microns.
All the tanks shall be provided with valves for empty, w/overflow and drain

7. SUPERVISION PERSONNEL
According Supplier criteria Supervision Personnel will be present for:
Erection activities
Performance verification.
Tenaris Hydrils personnel training.
We ask the Bidder to quote cost for this service, indicating total manpower hours estimated.

8. QUOTATION PRESENTATION
Bidder will quote in the following way:

Net price for all supplied equipment. Unit prices shall be indicated for:
o Jib cranes
o Each tank with relative piping system
o Tilting table
o Exhaust system
o Carpentries/benches
o Basket
o Electrical plant

Supervision price

Erection (as OPTION)


o Estimated total manpower
o tooling/machine required for the erection

9. WARRANTY
Supplier will give warranty of materials and elements supplied for one year after commissioning or eighteen
month after equipment delivery, whatever is earlier.
Warranty will cover the performance specified by supplier. All necessary modifications to reach this
performance will be in charge of supplier.

10. FINAL TEST


Once the machine has installed couplings will be processed without any adjustment
made on process parameters in order to check if the machine is fully operational. Quality
of the coating will be tested using Q-panel and reference couplings. Interruptions not
addressable to the supplier machine, like personnel problems, couplings not available,
power outage, etc. will be not considered for the performance test.
Signature of final acceptance test (FAT) from both party will state weather the
machine is accepted or not.
