Minutes of the Meeting of All HODs/ Deans / Associate Deans/ Registrar convened on 15th
September 2016
An urgent meeting of all Heads of Departments / Deans / Associate Deans / Registrar was
convened today on 15th September, 2016 at 2.30 PM in the Committee room of the Institute
under the Chairmanship of the Director, to discuss some important academic matters.
Following were present:

8. Prof. Najeeb-u-Din Shah, Head Electronics & Comm. Engg.

The Director at first appraised the members of the measures taken regarding various activities of
the Institute during the current unrest period including alternate arrangements made for
placement process of NIT Srinagar students at NIT Delhi. In view of prolonged closure of
academic activities and delay in initiating academic session, threadbare discussion was held for
setting the strategy to save the semester. As such, following was unanimously decided:

1. The physical reporting / registration for B.Tech / M. Tech first semester is already on. In
view of present situation it is further extended till 3rd October 2016.
2. For all other semesters, registration will start from 1st October 2016 till 3rd October 2016.
3. Classes for all semesters will commence from 3rd October 2016 Monday.
4. For M. Tech sponsored admissions in various departments, date of submission of duly
completed application forms is further extended till October 3rd 2016.
5. Further, in the interest of students, all HODs ensured about the availability of syllabi of
various courses of Autumn semester in respect of both UG and PG programme. In case of
missing syllabi concerned HODs are requested to upload the same on Institute website as
soon as possible.
6. Further, it has been resolved unanimously, that in order to safeguard the academic
interests of the students, all Saturdays and Holidays shall be converted to working days
once normalcy is regained. Further the loss of working days will be compensated by
utilizing winter vacation 2016-17. This information shall be uploaded on the website for
information of students and all concerned.
The meeting ended with the vote of thanks to the Chair.
