Reading- 18/07/16
Intro:
Great
-Read aloud was good, like how you read with expression and
explained your thinking out loud as you went.
- Great using the 5Ws at the beginning for the read aloud.
Main:
Great
- Behaviour reminders to students who are fiddling/off task.
Writing 18/07/16
Intro:
Great...
- LI displayed and discussed with students.
- Good discussing what a setting is- unpacking vocab
- Unpacking video (did we miss anything?)
Main/Reflection:
Great
- Conversations with students about their settings.
- Trying to get to know the students on a personal level.
- Incorporating fiction and non-fiction setting into the
vocabulary.
- Reflection time good, allowing all students the chance to
contribute.
Maths workshop- 20/07/16
Intro:
Great
- Modelling the place value chart on the board first for students was
really good, could rename ones as units if you wanted to.
Main:
Great
- Fantastic getting down to work with the small groups. The kids
love it when you get down to their level.
- Using the universal language to get the students attention
(hands on top).
- Revisiting the modelling from the beginning in the reflection.
Maths topic 20/07/16
Intro:

Great
-LI & SC visible from the beginning and discussed with students.
- Universal vocab of 1,2,3 snapback.
- Asking the students to repeat back hat their task is.
- Brainstorming list on board (very visual for students)
Main:
Great
- Commenting on using the two textas to get an accurate
measurement and modelling for students.
- Getting around to all of the students to work in small groups
and one to one, you were having some great conversations
with the students in the group.
- Revisiting proficiency scale at the end, prove evidence of
outcome.
- Finishing with turn and talk really good.
- Timing of the lesson was good, you allowed enough time for a
proper reflection.
Reading
Intro:
Great
- LI & SC displayed and discussed which was really good,
utilising the ICT.
- Read aloud really good with mentor text you dont always
have to finish the text, whatever time permits in the first 10
minutes (which is how long the intro should go for approx).
- Vocab they are using in the activity used in think aloud was
excellent.
Writing:
Intro:
Great
- LI & SC visible and having students read aloud is a good ay of
having them involved.
- Brainstorming 5 senses on the board great Segway into
describing pictures.
Reading 21/07/16
Intro:
Great
- LI & SC ready to go and visual for the students.
- Unpacked well with students and getting them to read aloud
also.
- Read aloud was really engaging, students enjoyed the
expression used when you were reading.
- Using the same template/vocab as the students are using is
great, continuing to reinforce the vocabulary.
- Reflecting at the end of the lesson was really good.

Writing:
Intro:
Great
- Getting the students to revisit and think about what they did
in the lesson before (previous writing lesson).
- Behaviour management and expectations of students during
introduction time was clear and maintained well.
- Brainstorming the 5 senses.
Main:
Great.
- Activity is really good, the settings are really interesting and
challenging this group.
- Roving and conferencing with students at point of need was
good, the conversations you were having were relevant and
explicit.
- Sharing time at the end- breaking off into groups was a great
way to give all of the students the opportunity to have a voice.
I like how you started together and broke them off as the
other students had the chance to let them guess.
