Do you think Brunt Hotels should mostly hire expatriate or local managers? Why?

In my Opinion, Brunt Hotel needs to hire mostly Expatriate managers first, in Order to
redistribute the company values as well as taking control of the process of rebranding new
hotel so it would suit with the Company vision which at this point should be well
accommodated by the existing managers in UK. These managers know the culture of working
in Brunt Hotels, the strength and the weakness of Brunt Hotels, and what kind of issues that
frequently happen in any condition of customers and situations.

After placing those existing managers in France, they will also need to hire the locals. The
cooperation between the locals and expats will get a very good result in the future. Locals
know the culture of their home country and expats have much knowledge of working
especially in Brunt Hotels.. Expats may be more expensive than hiring the locals, since the

management needs to spend more money for tickets, visa, the raising of new salary for them,
etc. But it will get more results in the future and less expenses later on.

Which of the six managers (Case Study - Part Five) is most qualified to head the new
division? Why? Which training should they attend to complete their skillset?

The Manager with the best leadership skills as: strategic thinking, effective problem solving, good
communication skill, and best time management will be qualified to head the new division.
Besides language and culture training, they will need to deepen their knowledge of being a good
transactional Leader as they will head a new hotel branch in a new country so the process of
incorporating brunt values to the new employees will go smoothly and as well as developing a
healthy and conducive new working environment.
