Assessment 2 - Participation
Sessions of this unit are a collaborative learning process for the benefit of all
students and are most effective when you are prepared, attend and participate.
Attendance alone will be insufficient to attain good marks for participation. You are
expected to actively participate in discussions and activities. You are also expected
to come to classes fully prepared; this includes reading the required chapters
and cases.

Seldom participate when called upon does not answer
in a way that indicates preparation or knowledge. Does
not often voluntary participate. Attends only minimum
number of seminars (less than 7). Students might expect
to receive a very low mark if they attend without
participating.

Occasional level of participation, occasionally contributes
voluntarily, answers are minimal/short and indicates
minimal preparation/spontaneity. Attends average number
of seminars (<9).

Takes the lead in discussion and gives evidence of more
reading and knowledge than required. Indicates regular
preparation for tutorials. Demonstrates insight and critical
thinking. Provides opportunities for others to debate and
discuss. Attends all scheduled seminars, unless on
