I am writing to recommend Dr. Keith Cagle for his tenure-track and promotion. He isan experienced American Sign Language instructor and non-profit organization, ASLTA, whom I have had the pleasure to work with in a few different ways since 1988. Dr. Cagle is an excellent resource for ASL students continued learning and his knowledge of ASL linguistics and principles of ASL teaching was a great asset to their education. Having known Dr. Cagle for more than 35 years, I can state with confidence that I have never encountered him in an unpleasant mood. He is always courteous and warm, inquisitive and enthusiastic. His interactions with students/interpreters/faculty and communities have been positive and beneficial. As a professor, Dr. Cagle is organized and efficient. He has familiarity with several different ASL / Interpreter teaching curricula and has experience working in a range of ASL instructional environments including both community colleges and universities in more than one part of the country. ASL / Interpreter instructors like Dr. Cagle are not in great abundance. His breadth and depth of experience make him an excellent candidate for any ASL/Interpreter program. If I can be of any further assistance related to his application, please feel free to contact me at lgreer@msjc.edu. Sincerely,
Leslie C. Greer ASL Department Chair MSJC at Menifee Valley Campus Menifee, CA
