TheGeneralAssembly,
Remindingallnationsofthecelebrationofthe50thanniversaryof
theUniversalDeclarationofHumanRights,whichrecognizesthe
inherentdignity,equalityandinalienablerightsofallglobal
citizens,[usecommastoseparatepreambulatoryclauses]
ReaffirmingitsResolution33/1996of25July1996,which
encouragesGovernmentstoworkwithUNbodiesaimedat
improvingthecoordinationandeffectivenessofhumanitarian
assistance,
NotingwithsatisfactionthepasteffortsofvariousrelevantUN
bodiesandnongovernmentalorganizations,
StressingthefactthattheUnitedNationsfacessignificantfinancial
obstaclesandisinneedofreform,particularlyinthehumanitarian
realm,
1.EncouragesallrelevantagenciesoftheUnitedNationsto
collaboratemorecloselywithcountriesatthegrassrootslevelto
enhancethecarryingoutofreliefefforts[usesemicolonsto
separateoperativeclauses]
2.UrgesmemberstatestocomplywiththegoalsoftheUN
DepartmentofHumanitarianAffairstostreamlineeffortsof
humanitarianaid
3.Requeststhatallnationsdeveloprapiddeploymentforcesto
betterenhancethecoordinationofreliefeffortsofhumanitarian
assistanceincomplexemergencies
4.CallsforthedevelopmentofaUnitedNationsTrustFundthat
encouragesvoluntarydonationsfromtheprivatetransnational
sectortoaidinfundingtheimplementationofrapiddeployment
forces
5.Stressesthecontinuingneedforimpartialandobjective
informationonthepolitical,economicandsocialsituationsand

eventsofallcountries
6.Callsuponstatestorespondquicklyandgenerouslyto
consolidatedappealsforhumanitarianassistanceand
7.Requeststheexpansionofpreventiveactionsandassuranceof
