Conclusion
The decay of Avenida Rizal caused a lot of economic problems that sucked
the life out of Avenida Rizal. Problems after problems which havent been
solved for decades caused the deterioration of the city and no, it is taking
the toll on its economic aspect and is the verge of dyeing . These problems
can branch to other aspects like social physical aspects which are exhausting
the government funds for the short-term and long-term problems they can
cause to people and the environment. In a fast growing economy like the
Philippines, facilities like mass transportation and commercial building shall
confirm to the pace of the society.
There is really no quick fix in the economy in the area. One thing the
government can do is to eliminate the main root of the problems, which is
poverty. This is no easy task, but with the help of continuous and consistent
assistance from the government, the possibility of poverty being gone wont
be impossible anymore. If there are no poor people, no informal sector will be
blocking the roads that shouldve been for the use of public and private
vehicles, no unemployed people will be exhausting the government funds for
financial assistance, and illegal activities will be so much lower.

Summary
Avenida Rizal, is one of the busiest areas in Manila. Vendors and people
are everywhere in the area, causing traffic congestion and business
opportunities. One of the first thing that can be noticed is the poor
market conditions in the area. There is high percentage of piracy of
movies and counterfeit products, although this kind of business offers
self- employment and employment for other people, his kind of
business is causing a large impact on the growth of the formal
economy and future foreign investments in the country, this means the
loss of the future employment for the people which shouldve taken
place if not for the interruption that taken place.
The high market value of prime buildings in the area is also a problem
due to the stagnant and low-paced economy that roots from the
deterioration of these buildings. If these buildings can be preserved
and renovated the future of the area might still change and the urban
decay that is slowly consuming the area might still be prevented.
Because of the unsightly vistas caused by the poor conditions of
markets and the many deteriorating buildings, tourists are scarce in
the area. The local government also seems to have given up on
revitalizing the area, thus the lack of tourism planning. Lack of tourists
means fewer job opportunities for the people in the area and fewer tax
revenues for the government.
Plans like urban renewal and the renovations of the old building in the
area to make the aesthetically pleasing and properly functioning again
will surely attract tourists and more business opportunities.
The high number of unemployment rate is also a big threat to Avenida
Rizal. High unemployment rate leads to a higher crime rate. The sight
of homeless people in the area is also unappealing. Plans to revive the
area will never be successful if the unemployment rate is still growing.
