Interim Pastor Dr. Milton Gardner

Minister of Music Rev. Art Bruce
Minister of Youth & Students Rev. Jeff Baxley
Director of Children Stacey Jones

It is with bittersweet feeling that I resign from my

position as Associate Pastor/Minister of Music and
Senior Adults at First Baptist Church, effective two
weeks from today, October 11, 2016. In June 2004, I
accepted the call of God and First Baptist Church to
be a servant/leader and I feel that our ministry
together has completed its course.
I have enjoyed every moment I have had in service to
our congregation, bringing music and the gospel to
our members, our community and the world. I will be
forever grateful for the opportunities to serve God
and represent Bainbridge throughout Georgia with
the Sons of Jubal, and around the world, ministering
in Russia, China, North Korea, Israel, and on FBC
missions to Mexico, Mali, Honduras and Haiti.
Performing Pastoral Ministry to FBC members
during two pastoral interim times has been fulfilling
in ways only a pastor can know.
My time here at First Baptist has been full of love,
learning and growth. I will miss leading the music
ministry and ministering to young and old alike.
Thank you, again, for all of your love and support.
FBC will always have a special place in our hearts.
Dian and I continue our prayers for you in your
search for pastoral leadership.

Trunk or Treat

October 26 7 pm
Please consider hosting a game or decorating a vehicle trunk to
participate in our Trunk or Treat this year. We have several carnival
games that you can choose from, plus several options that the
Children's Ministry is willing to rent if you are interested. So, grab
your Sunday School class, Bible Study group, WMU group or several
of your friends and sign up together. Or go solo and simply decorate
your trunk and pass out candy. Options and creativity are
endless! There is something for every person in our church to do whether it is sit and pass out candy or become more involved and play
games. Sign up with the form in your Sunday School folder.
Remember, this is our opportunity to do something nice for our
community with the hope that we can build relationships with people
who need to hear about Jesus. Everyone is asked to help the children's
and preschool committee make this event a success.
Along with participation in our event, we also invite everyone to donate
candy. There will be a donation bin in front of the church office. We
ask for no candy that will melt (chocolate) and only candy that is
already individually wrapped.

Sunday School

2016-2017
We will be starting a rotation of teachers and parents. I am in need of
individuals to teach three month shifts in three of our children's
classes. If you are able to assist, please contact me as soon as possible!

Operation Christmas Child is getting underway.

You can have a part in this wonderful ministry by
packing a shoebox with toys, hygiene items, and
school supplies for either a boy or girl. We will
collect shoeboxes on Sunday, November 6th.
Look and listen for more details in our morning
worship services during the month of October.
You can also find out more information at
www.samaritanspurse.org.
Fields of Faith is a student led community wide
night of worship that gives students an
opportunity to share their faith in a relaxed and
unique setting. October 12th is the date for the
event this year and will take place at Centennial
Field beginning at 6:30.

2016-2017
We are on the lookout for individuals and families that will join us as
we serve during our services. We need people for both Early and
Extended and age groups Babies-2s and 3s-5s. If you are willing to
serve, please let me know! My email and cell phone are below.

Be sure to sign up for one of our winter retreats.

Our middle school students attend MOVE,
December 29-30 and our high school students
attend Strength to Stand, January 14-16.
Information and sign up are available at
www.insideoutstudents.net
