A Fiberlink Application Brief | The Benefits of Fiberlink in Everyday Pro A/V

The writings on the video wall.

When it comes to any Pro A/V installation, Fiberlink offers more
than phenomenal product features and performance...
it actually contributes to your bottom line!
When you need a product to perform a specific function, you review
a products capabilities and what those capabilities cost you and your
client. You factor in the cost of labor, cable, connectors and any other
hardware you may need.
But what about the intangibles? The day-to-day gotchas that
always seem to chew away at your bottom line?
The We have a pretty bad signal over here. Do we have to run the
cables somewhere else? The Wheres that interference coming from?
The I think we are going to need another repeater!
The The client changed what? Do we have the bandwidth for that?
The I cant figure this thing out! Wheres the manual?
So, how does Fiberlink answer these common questions? Simple: Its
doesnt. With Fiberlink, these questions are never asked in the first
place. And, heres why:
Cancel Interference:
Fiberlink moves your signal digitally using light, not electricity. Ground
loops, signal interference, drop-off virtually any prohibitive characteristic of copper-based cabling! is eliminated with Fiberlink. You can
run your signal over high-voltage power lines, over other video, audio
and data cables, snake the cable through the tightest of openings,
bend the cable tighter... even run it through hazardous environments.
Best of all, you can do this with the
confidence that your signal youll receive is going to be just as clear,
just as definitive, just as pure as the signal you started with.

Advantages of
Fiberlink
Ground loops, crosstalk, EMI,

Dont repeat after me:

Repeaters? Whats a repeater? Fiberlink has products that go the
distance without costly and destructive repeaters. Products like the
7220 Series that send your VGA and Stereo Audio signals over a single
fiber for distances of more than 30 kilometers! Without a repeater,
without going back to baseband, without compression, without
scaling... without any signal manipulation at all. In fact, this series
offers you infinite signal distribution for drop-and-repeat, point-topoint and point-to-multipoint topologies right out of the box. And
since it does this digitally without ever going back to baseband during
transmission, you get picture perfect performance at each and every
point along the way.
Or, how about the 7500 Series which can send your DVI signals, along
with stereo audio, over one fiber for distances of more than nine miles?

Smart and Simple Installation Situation

Communications Specialties deliver smart and simple
fiber optic test equipment essential to any installation.
Fiberlink light sources and an optical power meter allow for
convenient and easy on-site testing of fiber optic networks during
construction, installation and maintenance.

Fiberlink 6610 Visible Light Source:

Use the Fiberlink 6610 Visible 650 nm Light Source to launch a
visible beam of light into the fiber optic core. This assists the user
in discovering cable breaks, identifying individual fibers in bundles
and verifying connection integrity. Use with single mode or multimode fiber.

Fiberlink 6615 Optical Power Meter:

The Fiberlink 6615 measures the strength of optical signals at 850,
980, 1310 and 1550 nm wavelengths. Essential for determining
operating loss budgets and troubleshooting any fiber optic
network.

Fiberlink 6620 Three Wavelength Light Source:

The Fiberlink 6620 launches a beam of light at 850, 1310 or
1550 nm into the fiber optic core. Use in conjunction with the
Fiberlink 6615 Optical Power Meter to assess loss budgets and
signal strength.

Fiberlink Field Termination kits offer fiber optic cable assembly
in the field with no polishing, grinding, glues or epoxies.
If you can terminate a BNC connector, you can terminate a fiber
optic connector. Thats because its as easy as cut, crimp and
connect with the Fiberlink Field Termination kit. Simply strip your
cable, crimp on your preferred connector and connect your gear.
Its that simple.
